Questions & Mysteries Ideas for Elbaf Heaven realm plot points

#1
At the moment we are too far deep into the Elbaf story for the Heaven Realm of the Adam tree to matter to the main plot. But then it’s also really weird if it doesn’t feature at all in the story.

the three plot points I can think of that take place in the heaven realm are

1. The Luffy vs Elbaf arc boss fight takes place in Heaven realm. Like in case Oda wants to have massive AoE and destruction, Heaven realm seems uninhabited

2. Heaven realm doesn’t feature in the arc, it comes back in the final war as High ground for refugees when the world starts flooding.

3. For Kuma to fly off. Oda introduced a limit to Kuma’s flying paws with the idea that it has a height limit. This limit would have mattered in the story if Akainu had managed to stop Kuma because of the limit. For now the limit doesn’t matter so Oda can bring it back into relevance by Having Kuma have to use his Paws from the Heaven realm to overcome the Red line height.

Longstanding theory Ive had about Elbaf (even before it was revealed) is that its tree leads to High West, a series of Sky Roads. Here is where I think Urouge, Enel and even Lunarians might play a role in the end, and we might get some intermediary arc up there before Mariejoa

I have a feeling Heavens Realm wont play a gigantic role this arc but if Luffy manages to become PK and we actually have a story after (i.e. Final War against the WG), one thing I can see is High West being used as a means to have us travel back to Mariejoa quickly without retreading the ocean.

Basically:

- We leave Elbaf, go through the final islands and LT
- We sail back to Elbaf, if only to climb the tree with Sunny and sail high west
- High West literally would be heading back west, over Mariejoa and Sunlight Tree Eve, maybe a few sky stops along the way.

Boom, easy way to circumvent the Gondola's and need to climb Red Line, while everyone starts warring with Imu. It also helps us get back faster hopefully.

After Elbaph, we’re heading to the moon to hear more ancient secrets and reunite with Enel.

During this time period we’ll see Teech kill Shanks, obtain the final rubbing just in time fire Lodestar.

Personally, I imagine there could be a Temple of Nika up there. As much as the Giants worship Nika, we haven't really seen any "churches", yet. We could get some interesting teases and glimpses of more lore from the ruins of some ancient temple, before it ends up getting wrecked in a fight.

The top of the tree might be where all the Devil Fruits are growing. We have seen a bunch of random animals on Elbaph who all have Devil Fruits. So, they have to be getting their Devil Fruits from somewhere. The top of the tree makes as much sense as anywhere else.

It's possible that Loki really does need to destroy Yggdrasil in order to help save the World. Much like how Momo has to destroy the walls of Wano. It just has to happen at the right time. So, it's possible that Loki will end up flying up to the Heaven/Astral Realm in order to destroy the Giant Tree, from top to bottom.

And, in theory, there could be another 3000 year old research lab up there. A counterpart to the one we've already seen Lilith start to explore. Different outposts built at different layers of Elbaph for different purposes, that originally all worked together.

And, yeah, like others have said, it could be the Summit of High West. (If that doesn't just turn out to be Mariejois or somewhere else on the Red Line, anyway, since that is another option.) The only problem is, I just don't see us going back to Skypeia, again. At least not right now. Oda seems to want to get to The Man Marked By Flames soon-ish. And...he's on the ocean, not in the sky. So, if we're not going there now, I don't know if we will.

And the fun part is, all these ideas could ALL turn out to be true. And Loki could use a self-destruct sequence built into a ancient Devil Fruit Lab to destroy Yggdrasil at the correct time. And then it could effect Skypeia in some way.

There is stuff we could do up there. I just don't know if it's stuff that Oda's saving for later. I could see us getting at least a tease of what's up there by the end of this arc. But, I could also see Oda leaving a lot of the mysteries of the Astral Realm for the Final-Final Arc of the series. If only because Oda does love his secrets. And revealing things LONG after he plants the seeds for them.

I'd say there's a chance it may never be relevant (similar to how certain areas in Wano were left mostly unexplored) but with the name "Heaven Realm" and the way it feels like Oda's purposely dancing around showing us it's very clear that there's something important there

Whether it's where the Elders reside or it's where the 4th Poneglyph is hidden. Who knows

Out of the options you listed I think 2 is the most likely. That we'll end up coming back and it'll be relevant somehow in the Final War (like Paperchampion pointed out)

I think it may be a place where some treasures are hidden, like the 4th Road Ponyeglyph. And it could also be a setting for a fight. And yes maybe there could be something that leads to the Moon, why not? I think there could also be some creature like the horse that Astrid gave as gift to Harald for the wedding. They must come from somewhere lol so as we didnt see them during the present time of the arc, maybe they live up there
