We need to have something to base this theory on. What we can assume is that if he actually went light speed to take the food from the machines and give it to Luffy then at the very least he still had some energy to spare.
I did think it could have been him at first but now Im starting to think some fodder took advantage of the VP food machine and just tossed him some food. I still have fmheavy doubts for example that Shaka and Pythagoras are actually dead, so it could have been one of them too.

Luffy needing food is like when Kaido offscreened him and he was all worn out. Caribou fed him like a months worth of food I think and the same thing may have happened here.
