Speculations If Luffy doesn't kill...

#21

idk where everyone got the idea from that Luffy has a no-kill rule. He takes this pirate shit seriously, and being a pirate means putting your life on the line to live the life. I have no doubt Luffy would kill if necessary, he just wouldn't feel particularly good about it.

I got it from Oda lol, read the manga, he explicitly stated goofy and the team doesn't kill

"Why doesn't Luffy kill his enemies? Because in that era, everyone uses their lives to fight for their dreams. For an enemy, when their dream has been shattered, it is the same as losing a fight, and as painful as death. I believe that, as pirates, killing or not killing is secondary to victory or defeat." I don't think it'd be weird to have Luffy just kill Imu or batter them into the sea where they'll die. He did the same to Kaido into the volcano and even if we pretend he survived Luffy knocked into a position where he could just die. Punching him into space would be wild, but the sea works fine and could be a fitting demise if Imu has one of the greatest fruits.

Imu will be killed one way or another, there is no problem with that.
You have Zoro and Blackbeard up for the job, one is capable of killing everyone while the other has no problem with killing anyone.
And you have also Luffy through indirect means like in the case of Kaido.

Same goes for Kaido and BM, they were too big to be left alive but at the same time "Luffy doesn't kill". But the plot does so we get that ridiculous misfortune that they both fell in the magma pit below Wano AND the volcano erupted just when they were inside the magma chamber, what a bad luck (contrary to somebody who when dies actually comes back as a god). This of course doesn't exclude the chance that Paido and Pig Mom will reappear in a cover story in X time.

For Im the catch could simply be that he lived far longer than he should due to some unnatural method and when Im is defeated this method fails to function as well and he is eroded away (just like what happened to Saturn). So again Luffy doesn't kill his opponent but the plot does it for him (without even stretching it so much like for a Kaido and BM).
