I wonder if the gift of prophecy that Sharly has will be revealed to be a specific form of future sight. If people can see minutes into the future, there’s nothing really stopping that same power being used for even further distances.

For the reincarnation question I’m still not sure if Luffy’s literally Joyboy’s soul reborn in a new body or if he’s a chosen one destined to inherit the will of Joyboy. There’s a difference there. Same for Shirahoshi and the original Poseidon.

People who complain about reincarnation / chosen one plots are just salty because they don't understand how free will works. :seriously:
Im not salty i like it, just kinda confused

I think he has JoyBoy's will, thats about it
Still make him kind of reincarnation, no?

I think the difference's that Shirahoshi inherited some pretty powerful powers thanks to her family ties and being the reincarnation of an Ancient Weapon while Luffy only happened to eat a DF that only made him resemble an old figure
Was it really accidently tho? Gorosei said it has its own will and was escaping from them
Seems like the fruit choose luffy?

Poseidon and JoyBoy may not apply with same concept.
For Poseidon...we know it's more like a title. As Neptune has mentioned, Poseidon/pluton/Uranus are three weapons named after three gods(here oda might have messed up and called them gods inside one piece verse but might be info for us readers, not characters). In the end what Shirahoshi has is not really a special power, we have seen different fishmen have different levels of control/communication with water creatures...like Jinbe and Neptune able to talk with bigger whales/sharks and take their help, caimi can only talk to small fishes and ask for their cooperation.... and then there is shirahoshi who can talk/cooperate with Sea kings. So there is a pattern there, and we can just think of her being that kind of a presence.

With JoyBoy, we know Zunisha is referring especially to sound which occurred with awakening in luffy's heart...i.e. with Nika. So it is possible JoyBoy is a chosen one....like a title or could be reincarnation as the last guy whom zunisha heard this from was JoyBoy from void century, unlike Shirahoshi which is mostly someone being born with that kind of power.
So I believe Nika is a must for JoyBoy....If oda doesn't want that...then JoyBoy was the name of the guy or his epithet in void century and he too had Nika fruit(which I think is the route oda will take as he has not laid out the god's realm in one piece at all). In that case, it's more a reincarnation type stuff depending on how much of a connection oda wants to make, especially since it seemed to be destined as the sea kings also knew that JoyBoy will come in certain years.

It's yet not clear whether or not Luffy is a reincarnation of Joy Boy, in the sense that the original Joy Boy reincarnated into Luffy.

But surely if that's the case Luffy didn't have any memories of Joy Boy, I wonder if Nika however could let him remind something of that golden lost age. 🤔

I wouldn’t say so, every Strawhat carries the will of another person.

Although I suppose in this case it is different since Joy Boy was dead before Luffy was born.

Then again, based on Whitebeard’s last words Luffy also inherited Roger’s will.

It’s more passing down a passion and a dream through the ages than literal reincarnation.
