Take some more risks like make a SH at least try to leave the crew, some internal problems, something like Enies lobby/Water 7, I'm not asking the moon. Also deaths, some real deaths, and stop with the fake tension which for a good portion killed the manga alone.

These manga-ka ruin their bodies and health for their craft. They work long hours and sacrifice a whole damn lot. They risk and stake everything on their work. Their decisions may reflect many things, but a lack of balls typically isn't one of them.
