6-7, waiting how elbaf turns out

there is still a good core but too much wasted chapters and wasted opportunity on most of the crew to develop the more. You could legit cut out the TS and more than half of the SH wouldn't change

Wano dropped 1-2 points for me the manga would be better for most of the characters if you cut it out, which is the only arc I can say that about

Some people are really addicted to being contrarians like a certain egotistical, superiority complex, argumentative person on here lol. I had a friend like that and he was extremely exhausting to deal with, constantly changing positions, moving goalposts too.
If I were in your position, that friend would be a former friend. Either way, I sympathize. :pepemwai:

And you're right about people like @SkySanji being contrarian for the sake of it. Would be funny if it weren't so pitiful. :broocry:

They are a former friend actually! I can only tolerate so much for so long and its been a huge relief since I've cut contact with them, they pushed me beyond my limits recently and not in a fun Shonen powerup type way LMAO! No new Super Saiyan form here or w/e but I was getting angry enough with their nonsense hahaha! Thank you though anyway man, I appreciate it! :pepemwai:

Right?! What is the point of it, the purpose too? I just dont get it. Trolling for attention? Agenda pushing that hard?

6/10. What made preskip so great was that the characters and plot points were kept to a minimum, and every single one served it's purpose. Postskip has way more side characters and plot points that are pointless and go nowhere, creating more inconsistencies.

The Scabbards for example was originally supposed to be 4(Kinemon, Kanjuro, Denjiro and Raizo), but Oda more than double them to 9. What purpose did Kawamatsu serve? Was all that build up in Udon necessary? Was Ashura Doji needed to gather the weapons when Denjiro was already a spy? Just more panel time and plot points to take away from the more important characters. The SHs are taking a back seat to these lesser characters too much.

Good to hear, mate. :myman:

As for their reason, some people just want attention at any cost, sadly.

I mean you say that but Marineford and Sabaody are regarded as Top 2 / Top 3 Arcs in the series. Impel Down is clearing every post timeskip arc except maybe Egghead and not a single Strawhat is in that arc. Those 3 arcs have the largest cast of side characters and again their viewed as some of the best in the series.

?
This is a false equivalence. Having the SHs not in the arc at all isn't the same as having minor characters hog the spotlight with unimportant plot points 24/7.

MF and Impel Down had good side characters that didn't overstay their welcome. It's even more erigigous when the SHs are present but take a back seat.

The difference that in exchange we got introduced to more overall world building
Like the things that happened in ID and MF are relevant to day (croco and co being free for example, forming CG and expanding BBP)

4-8 years of scabbard stuff (if we count the kinemon and Kanjuro stuff) didn't really went no where beside being contained and forgotten in wano

That’s more about the quality of the side characters. The impel down escapees were typically familiar faces from the past who were already known and for the most part appreciated. The main new side characters were Jinbe and Ivankov who were grounded into the story as a warlord and a connection to Luffys Dad.

Marineford sure had a bunch of people we never met, but they weren’t necessarily characters we were meant to care for, Oda didn’t try to make us sad when Jozu got defeated or when Curiel got dropped, the only side character we rooted for was Whitebeard and it was a natural appreciation as throughout the war we saw his love for his crew, his strength, and what he meant to ace

Not going to lie, Law Bonney Kuma and a few others have been good imo. But, the scabbards were horrible and the Grand Fleet in Dressrosa sucked.

3/10. Prior to Whole Cake I used to rank it at around 7. After WCI, Wano and Egghead, it just stands at a 3 now. I went into Whole Cake rating it an eager 8, but it slowly started dipping into 6 as it went on, but then came Luffy vs Katakuri and the series felt like an 8 again. Then the fight ended and the story went absolutely south, with the wedding cake drama turning the arc into a bottom 4 stinker.

Then came Wano... what a mess. All that wasted panel time on useless characters and making Kaido so boring reduced what could've been a rank 9 arc into an easy 4. Then Oden and Nika happened, with LOda finally revealing more about Roger through an insufferable dancing fool like LOden, that ship sunk to a freaking 3. Egghead started off for me as a 9, then it quickly went to absolute 2 after LOda decided to skip the York mystery, fights and made Vegapunk the biggest idiot ever. If not for the epic Blackbeard shenanigans, that arc would've been an easy 0.

Elbaf is looking okay so far, but that megablock castle part now feels like completely pointless filler, which is ironic because I was actually liking the mystery element in that section of the arc before it turned out to be a Road nothingburger. Now to wait and see if he screws up Pranks.

Pre timeskip to me was a 7, I liked the humor and only a select few characters had interesting fights, so humor was number one thing with one piece

Then post happened and one piece is no longer funny, many of the straw hats have also been pushed to the side and now side characters are more notorious

I don't like that so for me, post is a 1

Hmm maybe you just liked stupid bullshit more when you were 13 years old and experiencing it all for the first time, and now that you’re an adult with a fully developed brain, still posting on a forum about anime, you are able to find more faults with the plot of a 1,000+ chapter story. I’ve tried to get a lot of people (adults) into one piece and they lose interest early on because the beginning of the story was actually cola-fueled fast-paced nonsense and the entire combat side is super standard shonen “my big attack is better than your big attack” “oh no I have a secret ability” “oh nooooo I guess I have to use THAT technique” *screams while punching more* “oh nooooooo my evil plan”.

This isn’t exactly War and Peace. You liked it more when you were a kid because it was cool and new. Now we just want to know what the one piece is.
