Why not give BB the W? Perfect opportunity to hype up your end game antagonist. Make BB split the sky with Rayleigh, anything other than running away. BB going to Amazon Lilly for a devil fruit makes no sense, seems completely random. BB went to Amazon Lilly specifically to capture a character with a devil fruit and comes out of Amazon Lilly by kidnapping a character with no devil fruit. A wasted opportunity for one of your end game Antagonist. When BB kidnapped Ace, there was coherent set up, it wasn't random. We also got to see a page and half of Ace vs BB and it made BB look great. BB came out of that fight with a W. But comparing this Koby/BB situation to the Ace situation is night and day.
Also, what was the point of the BB vs Balitgo Dragon offscreen incident? What was the point of that subplot? Dragon is fine with attacking Baltigo and Dragon but isn't fine with Rayliegh. Incoherent story lines.
Edit: I used the Jiraiya Pain reference since Jiraiya and Rayleigh are so similar character wise. Rayleigh could have had his Jiraiya moment. Also, I wanted to poke fun at Oda writing at the same time.
Hating on Blackbeard? Instead of calling it incoherent storyline, try to read all of the dialogue.
- He can't do anything against Hancock, who would've turned him and others into stone, if Rayleigh ended up rescuing her. That's how hax she is. Even your Admirals would succumb to the same fate, outside of maybe Fujitora since he can't see.
- The other choice being he kills Hancock, with Rayleigh failing to rescue her. Then what happens? Well he lost two of his strongest commanders that are considered "legendary pirates" that "shook the world" (more hype than any YC from Kaido or BM). All for what exactly?? A DF for which he's gotta find a beauty? Lol.
He attacked Dragon with his entire fleet as far as we know, with Shiryuu and them there. This isn't the case here. There is no hax involved with Dragon that guarantees him destroying all of the Blackbeard pirates like it did with Hancock, who again fodderized two of his strongest commanders.
Rayleigh & Jiraiya aren't the same at all.
This is simply Blackbeard being smart:
- He came to Amazon Lilly without having full info on how Hancock's abilities work
- Realized the ability is more tricky than he thought (samething that cross Koby's mind) after Hancock explained it to him.
- Then left knowing he can't deal with that hax & Rayleigh at the sametime without losing his commanders and himself.
