Speculations Imu being the same person from 800 years ago

I feel like Oda is trying to throw us off here, Imu being 800 years old and him undergoing the eternal youth surgery is a red herring from Oda.

Knowing him, he wouldn’t give us something like this blatantly, I think Iva and Sabo speculating that the Imu he saw is the same person from 800 years ago is Oda trying to throw us off.

I believe that this Imu is a descendant of the original Imu from the Nerona family but is his own person, I also think that he became Imu through awakening a devil fruit that the original Imu had similar to how Luffy became Joy Boy through awakening the Nika fruit in Wano

Also it’ll be revealed to us that he has his own name St. Nerona …… but Imu is his other name through inherited will

I can only see this making sense if that person was Xebec. And then Gorosei were the ones from void century and recognized him and started to worship him again.

I think if anyone from the modern era were to be Imu, it would be a celestial dragon similar to how Joy Boy would be a D. And they don’t have to necessarily be from the Nerona family or a direct descendant similar to how Luffy doesn’t have to be a direct descendant of Joy Boy or from his specific family.

It’s all about inherited will, so as long as this celestial dragon has the same will and personality trait as the original Imu and ate his devil fruit(if we assume it’s a mythical human DF representing yet another God unique to the OP world like Nika) then he could be him in a similar sense as to how Luffy is Joy Boy

I believe the final war will be between 3 factions; Luffy’s, BB’s and the WG, each side having an Ancient weapon and a God devil fruit and an individual carrying the will of one of the leaders of the VC war 800 years ago

If that's the case I'd say Oda already prepared Nika to have the weakest ancient weapon aka Poseideon aka Shirahoshi. Specially if the battle takes on at Mariejoia since Sea King wouldn't be able to do shit there. Meanwhile Imu with Uranus and Teach with Pluton would have weapons that can erase an entire fucking island.

I’m not saying I’m convinced he’s not, in fact I’m more convinced he’s the original rather than being a reincarnation like Luffy is to Joy Boy.

But I’m just entertaining the idea nothing, I don’t know why you guys don’t even want to consider discussing it as a fun idea and being completely dismissive here, like it’s not a crime

This makes a lot of sense actually. How come the man has being around for 800 years and nobody notices...Imu could be a title too.

Fun idea, but I can’t help but think this would make Imu a souped up version of Vender Decken, with the jillion year desire for princesses and all lol

I think that it is a good joke to say that Imu likes Lily and all that but that’s probably not the case, Oda doesn’t draw romance
