Egghead is partly inspired by Thriller Bark. The Gorosei themselves are comparisons to the General Zombies.
Taran = Saturn - Both Spider Monsters
Lola = Warcury - Both Boar Monsters
Ryuuma = Venusjuro - Both undead Wano Samurai with similar fighting styles to Brook
Jigoro = Mars - Since both are part Monster bird
Captain John and Ju Peter don’t share much in common but both are outliers in their groups.
The General Zombies originally couldn’t be killed, until Brook revealed they were weak to salt and fire. In Egghead Seastone bubbles will replace salt and M3 have fire moves. Zoro defeating Venus with a fire move to get Shodai Kitetsu being a parallel to Thriller Bark.
But ultimately the only way to defeat the Zombies permanently was to take out Moriah, which means Luffy will need to take out IMU, and as crazy as it might seem I think this will occur this arc and here’s why.
IMU is probably way stronger then Luffy, but Luffy has a built in temporary power up this arc, Mother Flame. Luffy eating Mother Flame or absorbing it somehow would be similar to Luffy becoming Nightmare Luffy temporarily during Thriller Bark and complete the parallel of the two arcs.
One issue this causes is who would become the Big Bad of the WG if IMU goes down, and I think the answer is no one, which is Oda’s intention. The seat of King of the World would be left open and there would be huge royal rumble final war with RHP, BBP, Revos, CG, Marines, and Garling all trying to seize the throne for themselves. This is a much more interesting and unexpected final battle then another God like Big Bad being the final villain.
