he was able to do that when he was a rookie ... when Shanks/Mihawk was at least 100 times above him in skill

Asura likes is a move/mod form swordsman
there is ZERO reason to assume two greatest sword master alive can't pull something like this off

as a mod ? it would be too much

Shanks and Mihawk being above Zoro dont automatically get Zoro's abilities.
Asura has nothing to do with swordsmanship. Nothing even close has been shown from other characters.
It is a physical manifestation of spirit and certainly a mod, duration is arguable.
Mihawk/Shanks wouldnt benefit from it even if they were capable of it which they arent.
Oda wants to make Zoro unique and Asura certainly is making him stand out from the rest.

Pretty much this. Zoro can't maintain Asura for a long duration like Luffy's Gears and Sanji's DJ. Zoro can use multiple different attacks in Asura mode mostly for finisher.

And that's enough I think. People are generally too focused on definitive proof of something. As a general policy, given shown limits and no indication of ability to exceed those shown limits, one should work with those shown limits.

We know Zoro can use Asura for maybe around a minute (his fight with Kaku). We have no indication that he can use Asura for any longer than that. Those shown limits should form the basis of discussion around Zoro's capabilities with Asura (at least preskip).
