if Kidd was mc, one piece wouldn't be the top selling manga. Oda chose Luffy as an MC for a reason, the same reason Luffy remains as popular as ever. Calling Luffy is generic is so laughable lmao when Luffy embodies Freedom which is a major theme of one piece. You only look at surface level qualities. Literally every character in one piece has plot armour, just because Kidd has some tragic past, doesn't mean he has got no plot armour.

He is Luffy without PiS and that's it.
Kid is chad...I respect him for his fearless and never give up attitude and failures didn't stop him from his dreams etc.....but people should stop the act of "Kid is Luffy without plot armor or Kid isn't trained by someone" blah blah non-sense etc. to downplay Luffy achievements....the slight difference between Luffy and Kid is that Luffy accumulated "karma" helped him in difficult situations to bail him out......
Agree with everything you've said; Kid's definitely more interesting than Luffy. His interactions and emotional moments with Killer also feel far more emotional and relatable than Luffy and Zoro or the other Strewhats. Dude's no doubt a real chad, which is why I am rooting for him for a long time.

Two, KId did not try to invade Big Mom's territory as admitted by Kid himself.

Plan to defeat Shanks -> Kaido appears in his doorstep and Kidd got his ass kicked -> change plan to target Kaido.
Plan to take Kaido's head -> can't do shit in Rooftop and instead left in shock seeing Luffy's Red Roc -> change plan to target Big Mom.
Plan to defeat Big Mom -> something else will happen -> change plan to target Blackbeard.
Plan to defeat Blackbeard -> got killed -> end.
