I am not very interested in these books, but I would like to know if he wrote anything interesting about shanks's haki?

Sandman actually did a piece on this when he saw the film and got the book, the firsr 2 posts are book related, then some movie details, then everything about his crew is book related again:

Imo its hard to justify, because Garp looks heavily battle damaged with the God Valley incident when Sengoku mentions him, which he's never seen this way before. Chances are this is more an anime inconsistency

Lol, in all seriousness though I can see why Oda skipped it with Kaido. Bringing up this Figarland character ultimately shows that the incident has more to do with the endgsme than we think.

Somehow I feel like even the Burned Man is from this event. Maybe even Rocks himself.

Lol, I always thought that Shanks's Observation Killer is from his Observation Haki.

But it seems that Shanks's CoC is very high level if he can disable someone else's FS.
