Powers & Abilities Is Marco seriously not awakened?

He's a YC1 like Katakuri yet he hasn't awakened his fruit yet? Kata managed to awaken his fruit and develop advanced CoO over the years, Marco's fruit is directly attached to his role on the crew as Doctor not to mention being his whole epithet so shouldn't it have awakened by now?

He's had his mythical zoan fruit since he was young, I'll be pissed if the story ends and we never see what his awakening does/looks like

I do genuinely think kata kinda ruined the hype for marco/king since so many including myself expected to see similar treatment of them in wano. I do think and hope beckmann and shiryu can live up to what kata was able to do. If not kinda sad tbh

There could be 2 scenarios;
1. Awakening and advanced CoO/CoA can only be achieved with those who have CoC

2. He is already awakened but unlike popular opinion awakened zoans don’t give you a new form but rather gives increased durability, speed, strength and recovery to your Zoan form you’re already using.

I corrected my self and the impel down jailers should not be considered awakening and if you consider them awakened you should not be asking the question of why marco is not awakened rather why every veteran fighters are not awakened

I agree I just thought of Marco because he has a mythical zoan which seem to have additional abilities. Truth is there aren't that many Yc1-ish level characters who've had their fruit for decades who are in the story right now. Plus personally I feel like Marco's portrayal's been kind of lacking.

I just feel that oda gives awakening to luffy opponents and important people

Yeah in amount of focus, ability to master a fruit, ability to gain an advanced form of haki, being born a conqueror, etc
And he's likely to get the most overall development and focus compared to the others

Awakening might be related to death if Luffy is any indication, and it’s pretty hard to die if you’ve got a Phoenix fruit.

It's good too know that Marco can't "compare" with a jobber because he isn't a conqueror and doesn't have any form of advanced haki, somehow this doesn't apply to other jobbers with no CoC and advanced forms of haki because reasons.

We don't necessarily know that it's not awakened, do we? Maybe the awakened from allows for his resurrection, and it just gave him fire and flight previously.

Those who train their devil fruits to the upmost limit are the only ones allowed to awaken. Whether the devil fruit itself is weak or strong doesn't matter in the slightest but the user's ability to take their devil fruit powers to the next level.
