Powers & Abilities Is Oda running out of elemental powers to give to his characters?

He used retcon in the right form here. Katakuri was initially a logia, where Oda wrote it out like that in the weekly shonen jump release of the chapter but the volume released changed that and Oda turned it into a “Special Paramecia”
Weekly Shonen Releases are full of mistakes, Volumes releases correct them all, so they are just story fixes
Retcon isn't when you fix a chapter or page, it's when later, you ignore a previous statement or reveal or fact from previous chapter & completely introduce a new one that contradicts that old one, so the two contradictory ideas would still exist at same time in the story.
But when you change something from jump release to volume release, that's just fixing

"revise (an aspect of a fictional work) retrospectively, typically by introducing a piece of new information that imposes a different interpretation on previously described events."

As i said, introducing "New" piece of Information that is different than previously described one. Not completely "Replace"
And i replied not because of the decision, i just wanted to explain that there is no such Sub-Type called "Special Paramecia"
Kata's DF is just a Paramecia, it's just that Jinbe called it "Special", similar to how Robin called Enel's DF "Invincible"
They are simply very remarkable DFs

Dude you are talking out your ass! Oda literally first classified Katakuri devil fruit as a LOGIA , then after the fandom pointed out to him that only natural elements can be classified as logia Oda then changed Katakuri devil fruit from logia to “special paramecia” in the very next volume.
Are you obsessed with Oda?
I was just saying Paramecia have no Sub-Types, that's all
You're too dramatic, chill

Look, I agree with you on that defenition. The volume releases should be the only thing considered "official"

it's when later, you ignore a previous statement or reveal or fact from previous chapter & completely introduce a new one that contradicts that old one, so the two contradictory ideas would still exist at same time in the story.
BUT, in this specific case regarding Katakuri's Devil Fruit, it's not just a simple "mistake fix" that Oda was doing. Katakuri's Devil fruit is a Logia, in every sense of the term "Logia," except for the fact that it's a man-made element rather than natural.

The only difference between the magazine release and the volume release is that the official name was changed from Logia to Paramecia. But the fruit is still a "Logia."

So, lee33 is absolutely correct. Oda only changed the name because the fans called him out on it. If the fans had called Oda out on it after the volume was released, I believe Oda still would've made the change. It's just lucky they did it before the volume.

You're also technically correct that it's not a "retcon," because the volume should be the only official source, but it's undeniable that this wasn't a simple naming/classification mistake, it's not a simple "fix," hence why the Mochi-Mochi No Mi is completely indistinguishable from a Logia Devil Fruit.

My comment wasn't about this at all, i was just trying to explain to him that there is no Sub-Category called "Special"
Not whether it's Paramecia or Logia, that wasn't my subject at all

My problem was with the word "Special" only, i explained that it's just a description of the Fruit & not Extra Classification

Mythical Zoan doesn't mean they can use mythical elements. It just means that the creature itself is mythical and comes with possible powers regular Zoans do not have. Like, shooting ice blasts isn't something regular animals can do, but it is within the theme the creature Yamato represents has. Or Buddha shooting shockwaves, or Catarina Devon being able to transform herself into other people. Or Kaido being able to do supernatural stuff like elemental and weather control, being able to lift islands with Dragon clouds.

Lee's original post had that term in quotation marks.

Meaning, lee was just paraphrasing, to point out the difference between Katakuri's fruit and normal Paramecias, and also to differentiate it from other description used for other fruits, such as Enel's or Law's.

Oda has ran out of ideas a long time ago. Just look at these absurd devil fruits post time skip: Sugar, Katakuri, Monet, Brûlée, etc. Oda even retconned Katakuri devil fruit to a “special paramecia” lmao!
Because it is extremely different from those other devil fruits. If lee had written that out without quotation marks in his original post, then your point would be valid. But right now, you're arguing on a technicality and ignoring the context of lee's original post.

No need to re-explain what he said, the conversation is over

I guess fire is pretty common after all, pretty legit.
Yep fire is by far the most common. From Strawhats Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Franky and Usopp have attacks related to fire, 50%.
Point is, not even Kaidou comes closs to Mera if you train it hard enough. Flame Emperor >>>> Prometheus>>>> Boro Breath and thats without Awakening, just because it comes from a top tier it does mean it is a top tier attack. Same with lasers and Kizaru, Pacifista, Franky, Queen. Or ice Aokiji, Brook, Monet, now Yamato.
