I still don’t think RHP vs SHP Will happen. Blackbeard vs Shanks seems the best tbh
I think all 3 will be heavily tied into the endgame. Not one faction is going down before Laugh Tale/Final War. I've never subscribed to the whole Shanks vs Blackbeard thing, Shanks was going to fight everyone at Marineford, not just Blackbeard.

It really doesn't need to be separate lol. Luffy finds one piece and becomes PK the same time Robin finds the true history, which doesn't even signify the end of the story or be anything "special" to Luffy or Robin in that moment. Making some weird, special case for Zoro vs Mihawk being some exclusive EoS fight separate from everything else doesn't make sense to me. There's no narrative pacing when you do that, it has to be tied into the endgame.

And Luffy meeting/fighting/surpassing Shanks has been built from Chapter 1. It's essentially just as important to the story, even if it's not Luffy's "exact" dream. Everyone else will be fighting people associated with Mihawk at the time thst Zoro fights Mihawk.

I'm not sure why people think it's going play out as some unique, exclusive, epilogue event.

I don't agree with this either lol. Nothing suggests this would ever be "friendly"
It doesnt have to be an epilouge event, but it has to be its own event. Making Zoro fight Mihawk WHILE Sanji fighting another commander and Ludffy fighting anothee Yonkou will lessen the hype, since people would just be more invested in the Shanks fight. And beatiing Shanks isnt even Luffy's main goal, just as beating Ben isnt Sanji's main goal. Robin and Luffy's goal work together because one cant know the truth about the world if you cant reach Raftel, and by reaching Raftel means the Captain becomes the PK.

Why not sanji fighting Ben boy doesn't seem far fetch, and I think when Luffy meet shanks crew mihawk might be right there also not as part of shanks crew but just there because he still considers shanks a friend, so it would be a great opportunity for Zoro to challenge him for the title, while sanji deal with Ben boy

I don't think it really lessens the hype at all. It is what it is. They would all be their longest/best fights by far. "Hype" really doesn't have anything to do with it. It has to do with what works for the plot. I wouldn't be afraid of "hype" being stolen from Mihawk if Luffy vs Shanks happened after.

Shanks is also very much the "key" to Luffy's own goals. Pirate King isn't the end of his goals, he has a 2nd dream we don't know about and this entire series is driven by Luffy meeting Shanks again and returning the hat. Except we don't exactly know Shanks' motives as a character, only that there seems to be something deeper and darker beyond the face of the character.

Regardless of what happens, Zoro will never get the last fight in the series, so whatever "event" that even builds to Zoro vs Mihawk, its going to still end with Luffy anyway because he's the MC.

That's why I ask if it even matters if it's Shanks, because otherwise it'll just be the same thing with Akainu, Im, or Blackbeard

I don’t see shanks being around all that time, a three way war are always poorly written
You are thinking way too small bruh. It's not a 3 way war, it's a 10 way war. The World Government will be involved. So will the Revolutionaries. So will the Marines. So will the 2 Yonko. So will tons and tons and tons of allies, because that's the series has been building towards.

Yeah well i don't know what to tell you then lol, cause it's gonna happen whether we like it or not. Doesn't even include the silver medalists, Underworld factions, SSG, and former villains he's been teasing that are part of the endgame. Best thing that you can hope for is Elbaf or some other arc takes the brunt of these characters and resolves then like Wano is resolving 2 Yonko. Just don't expect them to be the 2 remaining Yonko.

Got to just accept that this is where the series is heading towards. Could be a 300 chapter long war that is consistently entertaining. Or it could be shit.

if mihawk joins shanks if i see it happening.

those who make fun of this possible confrontation, are those who will never return to worstgen, when wano ends and ZKK does not happen HAHAHAHAHAHA

They seriously don't realize how hard life will hit them when they end up ridiculed? yes, those who supported and defended the sanji vs king suffered disappointment, yes, but you, yes, you a rare and shameless species, it will be the apotheosis of shame to defend a theory dead since before birth.

that day, I will quote them all hahahahaha

Blackbeard and Luffy aren’t going to fight when the world government and Luffy fights.

Luffy will conquer all pirates and become king of the pirates. Then the throne war vs Imu

Seems like an assumption lol

Tbf we are all assuming the endgame here. Nothing implies the WG are the true endgame of the series. Could be either Yonko or them. We dont know how the plot plays out regardless. We don't know basically any character motivations or how it's all going to end.

To be fair, a scenario bringing back the Baratie would be awesome.
Mihawk's appearance was during Sanji's introduction arc. There, Sanji and Zoro had very conflicted views due to Sanji being stagnated at the Baratie.
"Just throw your stupid dream away!"
Having a moment where Sanji says something to Zoro like "I'll hold down the fort while you take on Mihawk" would be a really nice throwback and cool interaction between these two, IMO.
I definitely don't see Zoro vs Mihawk on this scenario being the same as Zoro vs "insert commander here". nothing prevents Oda from giving it more chapters than normal, etc.

My problem with how the story is unfolding, is that I'm having a hard time imagining a scenario where Zoro would stop whatever he is doing with the SH's, to go fight Mihawk.
If we have a war like Marineford, Mihawk won't be there as a Shichibukai. If Mihawk joins someone, it makes more sense to be Shanks than anyone else.

In the end, is just a "what if" scenario anyway. :kayneshrug:

Think is very likely, i like the idea of a Davy Back Fight between the RHP and the SHP, with the last Road poneglyph as the prize.

They would compete, but as both crew arent enemies, so they could party at the end.

Pehaps with competitions being something like:
1st round: Nami and Chopper vs Shanks fodder
2nd round: Robin, Franky and Brook vs Shanks officers
3rd round: Sanji, Jinbei and Ussop vs Benn, Roo and Yassop
Final round: Luffy vs Shanks

And while all of this is happening, Zoro and Mihawk move to another location to have their duel, Mihawk would be with the RHP after the end of the Warlord system.

With borh of them moving out to fight, the DBF happening, and after Oda changing to Mihawk vs Zoro.
