The story only delved a little deeper into stuff we already knew about and came up with a reason for the rasengan name. Kishimoto might have thought of that years ago and never had a chance to add it into the plot, or he could have come up with it the same morning he started drawing the spin off, that doesn't affect it's canonicity.

Kishimoto was a supervisor for Boruto from chapters 1 to 51. Being written by Kodachi and drawn by Ikemoto (Kishimoto's assistant during Naruto for a long time).

Then, from Chapter 52, Kishimoto took over the story from Kodachi. It still drawn by Ikemoto, but the story is Kishimoto's.

So, almost half of it is by Kishimoto at this point.

and he was a supervisor and on top of things from the start.

I have a hard time following monthly manga, so from time to time i come back, re-read and get caught up with what Boruto is doing.

I've read from chapters 1 to 70, something like that. I only need to finish the last arc / 10 chapters of part 1. It's been a while. So i'm doing a re-read again right now, to catch up, read the last 10 chapters and read the timeskip.

From 1 to 70 i liked Kawaki, and i also like most new gen characters.

I think i really liked Kawaki, because he felt a lot different from any characters in OG Naruto, while the other characters feel a lot like copies or mixes of characters from OG Naruto, which is expected, since they are their kids and are raised by them.

I do enjoy Boruto as a series for what it is, even if i like Naruto more.

I understand the hate it gets, but i don't agree with it at all.

I'm interested to see if i will still like Kawaki after the events of the last 10 chapters, i've heard things, especially a lot of people being mad at him.

Yeah he is really annoying and what he did to Boruto is out of this world. Yeah I get it you didn't have a nice life but using Eida and turn everything against Boruto is not right. I hope Boruto kicks his ass

My lakookie prediction is that there will be some kind of time reverse power used at end of Boruto which will uncanon all of teh series...
