I say yes times a million. The Yonkou crew during the "wedding cake" chase felt like an actual threat even with Big Mom falling on her ass. In Wano, we're told the Yonkou crew is a threat by having Whitebeard refusing revenge for Oden lest they lose many men, but we're shown a far weaker crew scathing by with less man-power, Queen's throwaway plot virus complete with PIS, and little girl's plot convenient Devil Fruit. It would've been objectively better writing if Luffy's Grand Fleet and 90% of the Whitebeard remnants showed up to tip the scales.

No, the Big Mom Pirates were a threat on the rooftop at the Tea Party, then the chase happened and other than Katakuri and Perospero, they degenerated into a collection of clowns that failed miserably against a pitiful force of

Which is a force that would be utterly annihilated by

-Kid’s crew
-Law’s crew
-the Scabbards, the samurai and the Minks.
-Big Mom turned into a horror show (not in a good way) and genuinely would have died if not for Sanji
-Smoothie did nothing. Legit, nothing. Other than almost sinking her own ship.
-Daifuku had the piss ripped out of him by Carrot
-Oven was a walking punching bag that, in order, was beaten up by Sanji, Capone, Ichiji and then was fighting Aladine, who has never really been implied to be all that strong.
These guys did not feel like threats, because there was a continal succession of cliffhangers where the Strawhats just kept winning anyway. Despite being horribly outnumbered.
The Raid shits all over the end of WCI. It might just be a fairly regular “Strawhats beat bad guys” arc, but it is far, far superior to the horror show that was the end of WCI. Give me Jinbei, Franky and Robin fights any day over the nonsense we had there.

Back in WCI the BMP were called every name in the book, had dozens of threads about being "Incompetent", people were complaining that not every single minister was M3 level for some reason(granted that was the perception of Yonko crews at the time, see Squardo=Doflamingo wank at the time), people were even wondering how did they even become a Yonko crew
Nowadays people jerk off about how "Competent" the BMP were even though that wasn't the perception during the arc itself
