Chaotic neutral. He can exhibit behaviours associated with good people but is in it for himself and is very ruthless and power- hungry.

If his plans had come to fruition, we would likely have seen more of his bad side....I can't really imagine him being a benevolent king.

But he is capable of loyalty, bravery and self sacrifice. One could even argue that his treatment of Loki is an act of honour disguised as cruelty, since he could easily have manipulated the child's admiration to force Harald's support instead of beating him down.

He's a bad guy in the idea that he goes against societal norms of whats considered good and legal

But he has a code and some semblance of morals and he treats everyone he cares about with dignity and respect which makes him good imo

He is ok just overrated.

As a villain, I would place Doffy/Crocodile/Lucci over him.

As a hero, I would place other characters over him.

There's nothing " new " to this character.

People only love him cuz he is strong.

He’s a criminal, good or bad is up to you, and it doesnt matter. To me, having a family with kid but go around the sea as a pirate who known to be thugs, rapers in steading of staying with your kids is by no means a good guy. A decent man he is when he went back yo save his family though.

I like how oda portrayed Xebec character, he is a true pirate in the sense his pirating ways are closer to reality than luffy's for example, he pilage, steal, scare the shit out of normal ppl and even went as far as Killing a navy admiral, on the other hand his pirating ways are not so "pointless" as he (acknowledging his Davy name inheritance) wants to dethrone the world goverment and Imu in particular ... which is exactly how nowadays teach is, that's the climax that oda wanted, you see Xebec, you like him, then you realize Blackbeard might actually resemble Xebec personality but with a more villanous twist due to his childhood difficulties.

He is in between.
