I can see this. Yamato to Oden would be like mid generation to Roger at his execution. With how far Oda has gone with Oden, I wouldn't be surprised that he inspired at least one important individual at his execution. Someone that hasn't been his retainer and Oden doesn't know about.

There is no Zoro parallel... Enma was made by a Shimotsuki and Zoro is a Shimotsuki. Oden is a Kozuki. Zoro's parallel is with Ryuma.

This is what i think Yamato got hold of oden's journal after visiting his place . Its possible he was inspired by oden's heroism and adventures he had with roger pirates and also his rift with kaido would have been recorded which may have upset Yamato in a way his father lost to oden with dirty trick could have rubbed him in wrong way .

Why would he lie to Luffy when they are just the 2 of them ? There have been many inconsistent things in wano so far, but if this turns true, then this is just the icing on the inconsistency Cake.
