I love it cause honestly Zoro based gags have been pretty good this arc due to it.

The kaku scene this chapter and the king one last chapter

Maybe he can activate CoC only when he gives everything to Enma as he did against King
Which means he can't use CoC without Enma at least not intentionnally

As he still can't control Enma he avoids to use it at full power in order to not die

Making characters seem dumb for plot is not the way to write a story :

• BM has adcoa and adcoc but decides to let Marco go and saying it will be annoying to waste souls on him
• Luffy and zoro not using adcoc, especially luffu not using adcoa or g5 to just counter their durability straight
• And other characters who didn't use their heads and skills to resolve an issue

Imagine luffy used G4 on FMI or Punk Hazard.
Or zoro used asura on every occasion.
Or the admirals went kill mode pre ts
Or doffy used awakening and CoC in MF
Or mihawk or garp or sengok went serious in MF

Luffy went into this phase of the arc utterly exhausted by going all out before they knew what they were really up against. And now Zoro is dumb for not doing the same while kizaru is on the way.

Luffy was just yelled at by Lucci for being stubborn and wasting energy without the right opportunity, and now Zoro is dumb for not doing that too.
