The wings of the future pirate king


Always trying to one up the other to prove they’re better


Always fighting relative opponents to each other when it really matters


Both are who luffy trust the most to protect the crew when he’s not around and the 2 he trust to fight side by side him when it comes down to it


Like it or not both are gonna be conquerors


Unlike characters like Rayleigh, Beckman, or even king because there’s no hierarchy in the crew besides luffy being the captain


Tho Zoro does get a bit more priority when it comes to duo moments with Luffy, fighting the stronger opponent, and fighting in general since it’s just more important to his role. Him being the first to join also helps him

No, I don’t think so. Both are special and vital to the crew as Wings of Luffy.

However, Zoro has the Captain + VC duo dynamic with Luffy that separates him from the Sanji and the rest of the crew that makes him special in his own kind of way. The one that was first to join, the only other one that’s part of the worst gen, the one that usually gets mistaken for the captain sometimes, 2nd one to unlock conquerors haki, the one that took the burden of taking Luffy’s pain etc.

I think the wings dynamic makes Sanji more special instead of making Zoro less special imo. Since it elevates Sanji to Zoro’s level who’s special in his own way.

Nope.

Zoro is more special because of Sanji, as their dynamics add a little depth to Zoro's character.

You get to see the petty side of his stoic demeanor.

-highlights his pride in his strength that adds to his already competitive nature
-gives him comic relief
-gives another dynamic to SHP

Also it's huge for marketing.

I'd rather have Zoro with his dynamics with Sanji that none at all.
Same with Sanji.
It goes both ways, they make each other better.

If anything zoro is the most special

he has many dynamic like luffy and zoro/sanji and zoro
oda also always him to fight the boss of the arc and giving him good feats

No Zoro is still special as the RHM of the Pirate king. However, Sanji has definitely gone up in terms of importance, and much is consistent with what both said to Kuma at thriller bark. Both wings stood up for Luffy. And even before that they both stood up to Arlong even though they barely knew about Luffy.
