Zoro has better if not the best battle iq in the series. Tricky fighter and DF dont matter that much when you have the strongest haki release in the series.
Stupidity has got nothing to do with it. Zoro was a better fighter than Mr.1, it was only the ability to cut steel that Zoro lacked. Pica was tricky because and hard to hit his actual body. Shiryu has yet to show better sword fighting, haki to put him above current Zoro.
If Shiryu being unable to be hit (nothingness) is the reason you are putting him above Zoro then put Shiryu above every one else too who does not have the ability to damage Shiryu too, which would probably put Shiryu only below Mihawk and Shanks.

Utter shit without AoE like WCI Luffy landed 13 hits on him and you ask how a far superior guy with AoE will land hits...

Kata was only ahard match up for luffy because he was the perfect match up for Luffy's fighting style at the time. Luffy didn't have a effective way to fight kata and the structure of the fight was everything luffy could do kata could do better. Everyone isn't going to fight like luffy. Like how does characters we know are far above him beat him? How does wb or bm, or roger, or Rayleigh, or kizaru, or joyboy, or xebec or anyone without fs beat him?
There 3 ways to beat kata.
1. First is to use your own fs to counter his makes a normal fight. This is the luffy kaido and shanks route.
2. Secondly is to have great aoe to completely counter his body morphing ability. This is how characters like Akainu bm or zoro can beat him.
3. Last is to have great speed and coo to effectively counter is fs ability by out pacing what kata sees. Even a move as slow as wci g3 caught kata when he wasn't expecting it. High coo and speed would constantly have him on his back leg. This is how characters like sanji Rayleigh or kizaru can beat kata.

Yes i agree about Zoro's battle iq.
Zoro doesn't have the strongest haki release, lets be serious. The strongest haki release so far is Joyboy's through Emeth.
We can only speculate about Shiryu's powerlevel and df usage.

yeah man it is, this is why Kat doesn’t let it happen again, and matches Gear 3 with his version and matches Gear 4 with Peerless Donuts.
The only way for Luffy to fight Kat was on his terms CoO, CQC, Action & Reaction.
Zoro is a bad matchup for Kat he can’t match a tatsumaki (unless he has one), Pound Hou, or Hiryu Kaen.
