For the fights you gave example, those protagonists' main goal is to save the country or help Luffy win. It makes sense they fought whatever enemy in front of them.

But if Sanji hold a grudge against Lucci and declared he wanted to beat Lucci, then he gave up and fought Jabra instead. That will be weird and counter narrative that has been built. This kind of situation even worse for Zoro, who typically pride and badass.
I agree with you man..... but the only thing I accepted King vs Zoro was that zoro went all out yet kaido didn't fall... luffy figured out CoC but it was too late for zoro.. now zoro can figure it too...
Now the thing is... if zoro got double pain during king fight... dragon blaze will be his last move... Zkk go to gutter...
if double pain hits after king fight... zoro will do just one move against kaido with sanji's help to transport him for ZKK... just like ashura was last move... dragon blaze and ZKK.... and I dont know how much honor zoro gains from it...
if double pains kick after kaido fight.... ZKK might be glorious but problem is luffy gets overshadowed.... something which will not happen... most probably... until and unless sun/moon theory of luffy/zoro is correct....
.
second choice looks most liekly coz it has sufficient twist and turns for oda...
.
I am not a big fan of king or king vs zoro fight....

I think we need to wait more from their fight before judging these things, King's lore might tie in with Zoro for all we know, if not this arc in a later arc (like Zoro copies perhaps some skill of his applying to his swordstyles, could be something as simple as that, like he learned Kinemon's flame rend).

Need to see more.

And it doesn't make it bad just because it has no connection anyway.

I didn't like the lead up to it. Oda barely elaborates on what Marco was doing against King, and suddenly Sanji was forced to fight both Calamities? It begs the question what everyone else was doing to let that happen, and why would it suddenly be different now that Zoro has taken Marco's place.

The fight itself could be promising, with Oda fleshing out King more and Zoro's connections to Wano being delved deeper. I do like that King is a no nonsense exterminator compared to the more discipline warrior Zoro is.

as they said going back from kaidou to king is meh ut felt like driving 200 km/h
then going back to 120km/h which is not slow but its compared to 200.

but oda did this for a reason
did it to give other characters time and development that would not happen if zoro & liffy continued fighting kaidou as kid and law vs bigmom.

-kin death 💀
-yamato focus
-momo development
-other things Shimotsuki king race etc
....
but he will get back again vs kaidou
this just a delay.

same thing before 1000
Luffy was running 🏃‍♂️ while zoro was dealing with apoo .

now luffy is trying to reach kaidou again while zoro is busy with king .

nothing change nothing new .

soon both will reach kaidou as they left .

What will Zoro learn? He said he will bite if he needs to, so you mean that he have learn how to bite correctly in a swordsman fight? You might as well say theres no need for Zoro to fight King or even Kaidou since Zoro had mastered everything.
Zoro not mastered Adv CoC yet. He has a reason to fight Kaido not King. King is just a bag of shit to current Zoro.
When Zoro says that he will bite King if he needs, that means he doesn't even care anymore to fight fully as a swordsman just like he implied King may not be a swordsman as well. Oda literally killed Zoro's character.
