Wrong. Chimera Ants came to the NGL cause they couldn't survive in the dark continent. Don Freecs has being living there for who knows how long. It doesn't matter how OP Meruem was, the calamities will be stronger and Don Freecs and the whoever makes it to the Dark Continent will have to have some serious power level gains to compete with the threats in that place. Chimera ants were just a tease of the Dark Continent.

Thats why Im telling you that you are conflating danger levels with individual power. Post Rose Meruem was broken but a mere wish and he dies.

Another example of individual power vs surviving against existential threats is a tiger vs any kind of deadly virus. You can shoot the tiger dead but the virus cant be killed like that and you die.

Netero only survived that long and wasnt a negg diff because Meruem wasnt trying to kill him ( he removed his leg in the first hit when he couldvr gone for the head) and because he had the perfect ability to stall him, so even people on Neteros caliber are kind of fodder to Meruem.

Meruem eats a nen user, acquires their abilities and their nen aura.

Chrollo has to fulfill a bunch of conditions to acquire the ability but has to hold his book at all times and until lately couldnt use multiple abilities at the same time.

Maybe it’s been too long but iirc Meruem gets their aura, basically their ren and ten. Chollo can steal Nen Abilities but not their actual aura so his ten and ren remain the same
