That haki blast just removed the summons of the gorosei and couldn't even ko vice admiral double chins. We already saw Luffy/Franky/Bonney/Sanji achieve a similar feat by kicking mars all the way back to merijoa.
Also Imu reaction is more trauma as imu is reacting to an his greatest enemy that should be long dead

I don't need to leech of anyone's haki feat, Zoro and Mihawk have the best haki feats in the world.
You can split the skies all you want but try splitting a Lunarian instead.
Sky split does 0 damaji, Dragon Damnation does infinite damaji.

Plot. Realistically, there is no way a sloppy guy like that tags Shanks fairly.
That's why he lost, because he wasn't the ultimate hakiman and relied in DF instead.
Canceling DF abilities at the crucial moment in battle means defeat of those who abilities were canceled.
Imagine removing Kaido's dragon scales in the moment when Zoro/Oden are landing their strongest attacks...

Zoro's haki blocked a combo attack from 2 yonkos that beyond haki sky splitting level.
How nice of you to point out most Zorofans who think he has Yonko-lvl Haki when his strongest Rooftop attack left a papercut Kaido didn’t give a shit about later on, he barely beat a YC1, and initial clashing with a top tier in Egghead didn’t cause any skies to split

DF merchants have been living on borrowed time for way too long and it is finally time to face the music.
The consequences of choosing the easy way out and taking shortcuts to power by eating fruits that grant abilities that others instead of them have dreamt up into reality have been swept under the rug all this time but there is no more space under the rug. It is about to pop!
We have been gradually spoonfed into this realization that DF merchants are helpless in front of hakimen.
It all started on the rooftop with haki passively stopping DF hax abilities, just those abilities that would make a lol diff scenarios possible.
Then, in Winner Island, we have upgraded to active usage of haki stopping DF hax abilities, harmful lingering effects like Doc Q's...
All of that was still fine and DF merchants were still sleeping thinking they were safe...
Enter the last chapter and the worst nightmare any DF merchant could have imagined has become a reality!
The funny part is that this isn't even new information, as we have already seen it before but we had no idea or weren't sure about it.
Welcome to the age of bitter truth for DF merchants:
Emeth released the haki from the knot, Shanks released haki from Gryphon. In both cases, same result - complete negation of DF ability.
The end is near and now it all makes sense why ultimate hakimen are saved for last.
The most important conclusion - Devil Fruit's abilities cannot manifest in front of gathered strong haki.
Second most important conclusion - DF merchant can never be a final villain. It has to be someone with racial ability that haki cannot neg.
Third most important conclusion - DF merchants cannot possibly be #1 of the universe, they are not the true representatives of Power.
This is why Imu trembles at Joyboy's haki, because his ability was useless against him, as hax as it might be.
This is why Whitebeard is "equal" to Roger, because Gura does not work. At the top, all you have are weapons and haki. DFs do not matter.
I seriously hope that Luffy, Blackbeard and Imu never get to face a hakiman without plot armor as it would expose them to the whole world.
If Oda can have Luffy not fight swordsmen for 27 years, he should also manage to keep them safe from hakimen for a couple of years more.

Luffy vs Teach boils down to the peak of these two concepts colliding, in which willpower does win.
Keyword here is, the MC's willpower, which Oda, being the Nika blowjob servant he's, would ensure it would take a steaming pile of shit on anyone else's.

Well that depends on how strong is the Haki of these DF merchants are. We've seen how passive Haki can automatically negate certain abilities of Devil Fruits, and how if one has strong enough Haki can dispel Devil Fruit effects casted upon them with active usage of it, and it's fair to say that with the most current chapter of One Piece that it can even remove Devil Fruit abilities from separate entities altogether if you have extremely powerful Haki.
This is all assuming the one initiating the negation of the DF has superior Haki to the DF merchant, and the context surrounding the negation of DF abilities such as whether the DF merchant was actively using Haki to cancel out the negation and if it's possible for the DF merchant to protect certain DF abilities of the negation. Would the outcome be different if the Gorosei actively used their Haki to counter Joyboy's own? Maybe, but there isn't really proof to determine the outcome either way.
My point is that certainly strong Haki can cancel out DF abilities, but if the DF merchant is able to counter with their very own and has sufficient enough Haki, then said DF merchant can continuously use their DF abilities as per usual as long as they are actively keep their Haki defenses up.

As a DF merchant fan, one of two that represents peak of Dreams manifested, you are good but my point remains, at the peak, a DF merchant cannot stand above a true hakiman.

This is a great concept. I am also leaning towards Luffy vs blackbeard as a endgame villain.
