DF merchants have been living on borrowed time for way too long and it is finally time to face the music.
The consequences of choosing the easy way out and taking shortcuts to power by eating fruits that grant abilities that others instead of them have dreamt up into reality have been swept under the rug all this time but there is no more space under the rug. It is about to pop!
We have been gradually spoonfed into this realization that DF merchants are helpless in front of hakimen.
It all started on the rooftop with haki passively stopping DF hax abilities, just those abilities that would make a lol diff scenarios possible.
Then, in Winner Island, we have upgraded to active usage of haki stopping DF hax abilities, harmful lingering effects like Doc Q's...
All of that was still fine and DF merchants were still sleeping thinking they were safe...
Enter the last chapter and the worst nightmare any DF merchant could have imagined has become a reality!
The funny part is that this isn't even new information, as we have already seen it before but we had no idea or weren't sure about it.
Welcome to the age of bitter truth for DF merchants:
Emeth released the haki from the knot, Shanks released haki from Gryphon. In both cases, same result - complete negation of DF ability.
The end is near and now it all makes sense why ultimate hakimen are saved for last.
The most important conclusion - Devil Fruit's abilities cannot manifest in front of gathered strong haki.
Second most important conclusion - DF merchant can never be a final villain. It has to be someone with racial ability that haki cannot neg.
Third most important conclusion - DF merchants cannot possibly be #1 of the universe, they are not the true representatives of Power.
This is why Imu trembles at Joyboy's haki, because his ability was useless against him, as hax as it might be.
This is why Whitebeard is "equal" to Roger, because Gura does not work. At the top, all you have are weapons and haki. DFs do not matter.
I seriously hope that Luffy, Blackbeard and Imu never get to face a hakiman without plot armor as it would expose them to the whole world.
If Oda can have Luffy not fight swordsmen for 27 years, he should also manage to keep them safe from hakimen for a couple of years more.

Conqueror’s haki is literally a cut-off for your haki lol. Only 1 in a million

Thats why WB had no advantage over Roger despite having a far higher DC stat.
But it will never actually happen in combat on panel because it is easy mode and ruins the thing that OP is famous for, fights without DFs isnt something Oda will draw.
If he will justify it by making that burst way too taxing on the user or he wont justify it at all just like he ignores CoC fodder control in each war since FMI, who knows...

Joyboy caught Imu offguard and intimidated him hence disrupting his power. Shanks disrupted GB’s form but you can still see that he was partially transformed. Haki can’t actually negate dfs thoroughout an entire fight, that is a stupid notion. Just a burst of haki that can disrupt df users once per fight at best.
Even Kaido‘a strongest attack is with the use of his df, this is like the rich telling you that money doesn’t matter.
