Conditions :
- Minato as he was when he died. No restrictions but no Kyuubi.
- Itachi in an hypothetical scenario. He's totally healthy.
- Itachi's stamina is equalized.
- Itachi has knowleadge, Minato knows he's expectional at genjutsu
- Minato can use Gamabunta

Verdict :

IMO Minato takes this 6/4. He is fast as fuck and some rasengans should be able to put down Itachi. Even though Itachi has lots of ways of fighting Minato and WILL discover his weaknesses if he survives for long. He's a master of fire jutsu plus he has susanoo with his shield and sword plus he can use it for much longer now.

So ye Minato takes it with lots of difficulties.

Minato take this with little difficulties, he has fought and countered Obito Sharingan in just his first encounter and able to understand how his ability works... his flying thunder is praised and acknowledged by the second Hokage who consider his flying thunder league above his and we know for the fact the second Hokage has massively injured Madara brother Izuna who was an Uchiha and consider prodigy alongside Madara... Minato with his speed counter what Itachi has to offer in his fighting category

Minato low-mid diffs. Itachi is in Jiraya's league, when guys like Jiraya, A, Bee view Minato as unsurpassable. Featwise, A is too fast for sharingan and Minato even faster, especially with FTG kunais all around the area, not allowing Itachi to know where exactly he'd be blitzed from, including potential blitz from behind. Itachi's only option is Susanoo, but FTG not only could teleport it, but it has stamina issues, making Itachi run out or get bamflashed. And one marking is enough to end this fight. He also defeated Obito who was Itachi's mentor. All that without taking into consideration his summon, SM amplifying his powers

Minato hands down
Itachi has some damn hax abilities, but they can all be countered by S/T jutsu - These can be used to get within Susano'o, and perhaps even remove Yata Mirror etc.

Minato is faster, just way too fast for anybody who isn't at least as fast as BM Naruto - if the Raikage can't keep up with him, what hope does Itachi have when he was only around as fast as 5 kage summit Sasuke? It's just too bad that in terms of simple jutsu, FTG is just crazy overpowered

They're really not though

Itachi is a Genjutsu and Taijutsu specialist who happens to have haxx ninjutsu only because of the mangekyo - he's nearly blind. He lacks Lightning style and S/T/Rinnegan jutsu. Sasuke, by comparison is a taijutsu and ninjutsu master with strong, (but nowhere near as strong as Itachi's) Genjutsu
Minato is NOTHING like Naruto other than having Rasengan and Sage Mode, like, when has naruto ever used S/T jutsu? That's like, all Minato does.

I feel like you're looking at this totally the wrong way

I was not saying Naruto has the exact same abilities as his father.

But u can't deny both use rasengan, both are wind specialists, both had the kurama mode powerup. Obviously Naruto reached a higher lvl, but that's why I've said they are lesser versions.

Itachi & Sasuke both have the same type of mangekyuu Sharingan.

But Minato could also use lightning and fire, plus lightning was his primary nature - if we're talking living Minato, he has no Kurama. Minato fought using S/T jutsu, Naruto's never used one in his life

Yes they did, but Itachi fought with Genjutsu, Sasuke fought with Ninjutsu. His training with Orochimaru, his training with the Zetsus all focused solely on Ninjutsu and Taijutsu. Totally different fighting style etc.

I seriously believe Itachi is very underrated. There are only few beings who could overpower the Edo Tensei control, and Itachi was one of those who is talented enough to do that even if he didn't have gigantic power like Hashirama or Madara. He is a genius as we've seen how he handled Orochimaru's curse on Sasuke, and Sage Kabutomaru and before that he delt with Edo Tensei Nagato who was using Rinnegan in a frigging Edo Tensei body.

Minato is also very skilled and I think he would win against a lot of Kage level fighters, but he isn't winning this.

Minato can teleport Susanoo away from him using the seals like he did with Kyuubi beast ball.
But yeah, Minato can't harm Susanoo, neither can Susanoo hit Minato.

Susanoo is a protective shield which can tank even lava or amaterasu. It's not an attack that he can teleport away.

I apologise, I was referring to Amaterasu, lol, my bad. Forgot the names of the attacks.

Yeah, Minato can't get past Susanoo. Problem is Minato is too fast to get hit. That's why I said stalemate at the beginning.
