Character Discussion It's kind of insane how incompetent Garp is as a mentor

Going through Garp's proteges one by one:

1. An emperor of the sea and the future pirate king
2. A division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates
3. The second in command of the Revolutionaries
4. A titanic captain of the Blackbeard Pirates
5. A SWORD member
6. A SWORD member

He did a good job at teaching them to be strong I guess, but 4/6 of this guy's apprentices became enemies of the Marines. How is it even possible to fuck up that hard?
