Luffy would have nothing he needs to "recover" from if his fans did not consistently set him up to be way stronger than he is. His problem has never been his performance, that is still respectable all things considered. Its just people think he is way stronger already than he actually is. Many people have been pushing the idea Luffy is already Top 1. Mainly because of his attack power/potency.
Even after Luffy has shown he can only be considered a top tier for like 5 minutes before needing to re-charge via food or sleep? His stans said "so what, Wuffy in Gear 5 does not need any longer to beat everybody, he has insane attack power! This guy was making Kaido dodge his attacks! He can one shot everybody if his attacks land! He about to 1v5 the Gorosei!"
Well, he is once more getting hurt from punching Topman, this time while in Gear 5.
Luffy fans now have to legit downplay Luffys oh so great battle iq since according to them he is just forgetting the fact he has Acoc he could TOTALLY use to defeat the Gorosei whenever he wants.
But just doesn't since he is secretly a masochist and enjoys hurting his fucking hand whenever he punches Topman apparently?
He also purposefully gassed out multiple times while fighting and going out of Gear 5 rather than just use Acoc which totally can harm the Gorosei because that makes sense too right? Him choosing to commit suicide? Because remember, Luffy was handed a convenient special lunch break from the giants by Oda sure, but Luffy did not know that.
As far as he knew, once he went out of Gear 5 against Topman that was probably gonna be it, but he still fucked around and did not use Acoc according to Luffy-stans and Gorosei-haters alike all because admitting that Luffy CANT beat Topman or any of the other Gorosei currently is just not possible.
Well, its still true. Luffy, the guy everybody and their mom praises for being willing to fight no matter the odds, is currently running the fuck away. Despite back up from the giants! Would he do that if he could beat them all oh so easily?
Because if anybody STILL thinks he could totally win via some basic shit like infusing conquerors but just does not? Luffy is the worst fighter in the whole setting when it comes to battle iq/combat skills then. If THAT guy is the one with the “Top 1 energy” no wonder Imu and the Gorosei ruled the sea for 800 years plus.
