I doubt that they're dead of course, but i could easily see their last stand at the end of Whole Cake being relevant later.

I'm not gonna say Jinbe would've been particularly hard to hide considering the managed to hide Franky lmao

It was also probably just a way to have a nice reunion at the start of Onigashima.

Because it's jinbea character to help his old crew to survive big mom and none of the stuff that happen at the beginning of wano wouldn't happen(luffy getting separated).

Jinbe surviving WCI is bad plotting, I think it was rather clear Big Mom wanted to kill Jinbe and not allow him to escape after all what had happened

So, what was the narrative purpose of this? I don't mean about Jinbore showing that he's super honorable as always, but what did Oda gain with writing him out from the plot for a while?

I figured something relevant would happen to him there, but so far there's no indication of this. And he didn't swoop in to help SHs for that to be the grand purpose of his return.

What do you think it was, did Oda just have nowhere to fit him in the story? Would a Fishman not be able to hide in Wano etc.?

You will get know in Cover story that everyone was fine.

So he could showcase having another well-renown pirate sucking luffy's dick, in this case jimbei announcing himself as a member of the strawhats in front of luffy's "rival" and enemies.

Basically this i think. I imagine Oda will make it like they created separation at the sea with their fishman skills, so they escaped. Also, the fishmen can dive and Germa can fly. If Oda wants to "sacrifice" something he can give the BMP the Germa kingdom and technology, while they survive. But i cant say what could have happened when it wasnt shown, Jinbe appearing alive and well, and in great mood, tells me everyone escaped safely

Having Jinbe means safe arrival in Wano... Safe arrival in Wano means Luffy not meeting Tama... And so on...

You know Tama's impact in Wano arc...

I was hoping Jinbe could have to face off the CP0 but maybe this won't be ultimately necessary.

Robin and Brook are still running... I think the SHs won't fight those 3 masked agents... They'll fight the ones who are on the way to Wano...

If there's another person who'll fight the one who wants to capture WsW, I think it would be Killer and/or Hawkins...
