It goes both ways, Gojo bros are reading Gojopiece while Sukuna bros are reading Sukuna Kaisen. I doubt Sukuna is deliberately getting hit and losing, but he's definitely taking the riskier options to adapt.

Gojo tries to use Cursed Technique Reversal but MAHORAGA DESTROYS GOJO'S DOMAIN FROM INSIDE!! Gojo is shocked to realise that its already adapting to void!!

This confirms two things:

1. Infinity Void was at least partially resisted as Sukuna wouldn't be able to summon Maho if it weren't for that.
2. Either Sukuna deliberately delayed his domain 0.01 seconds to get hit by Infinity Void to adapt to it or Sukuna adapted to it when he's hit the second time, which is why Mahoraga is already adapted to it.
