I feel Joyboy was just a name , i suspect there were many people using it .

who is the real Joyboy ? Its not the person who possessed Nika fruit its the idea .

It took 100 long years to erase the idea of Joyboys existence . He had huge impact in Void century .

There are a lot of possibilities, he might have been a giant or a half giant, there are a lot of humans that live a long life, maybe he is a buccaneer or he's allies or successor continued the fight and the conflict lasted 100 years.
An other possibility is that the 100 years period is an era of conflict culminating with Joy Boy at the end of it.

Also at this point I think we all agree that Joy Boy is a nickname right? Attributed to him because of the nika awakening

I think its combination of different people using his name .

Its same like One for All in my hero Academia . It was used by many people .
