Sukuna is repeatedly implied to be above Gojo before world cutting, but I don't see why he was way above him. That doesn't make much sense given how hard the fight was for Sukuna even if he was somehow holding back.
Sukuna already answered this for us. Unless Maki is significantly weaker than Toji, Yuta is stronger.

He used Mahoraga's adaptation to figure it out.
He uses World Slash to get past Limitless and kill Gojo.
Limitless and Gojo are out of the equation.
So how exactly does the World Slash help Sukuna against the current cast any more than an amped Cleave or Dismantle wouldn't?
He can (and did) slice up people to bits by touching them (e.g. Yuji's torso).
The only character you could make the case for that would need the World Slash to be used against them is Kirara with her technique.
Other than that it's a redundant attack against non-Limitless characters and exists solely to get past Limitless
