Imu sounds like Generic villain . He reminds me of the guy who was the wizard of oz if you ever read the book.

Also its tough to sell Akainu as EOS villain unless he murders dragon in front of luffy and challenges him.

Shirahoshi is an ancient weapon, so he’s right to care about that. But D’s were singled out. D’s are the main opponents of the teneyuubito, and Imu is their leader.

Akainu cares about Luffy’s father but not about the D, which is getting more and more important.
Luffy doesn’t even know or care what the D. Is. Akainu murdered his brother right in front of him lol.

Another important point is Akainu is not a pirate. So technically Luffy has no reason to fight Akainu.
Luffy explicitly stated that he wants to fight the admirals and Sakazuki in particular is the one who assassinated Robin's people, killed his brother and left him forever scarred (a scar that hurt when "Akainu" was mentioned). The marines have been consistently portrayed as a force antagonic to pirates; revolutionaries, on the contrary, are going for the Celestial Dragons and, in terms of World Government, Carmel suggested Linlin could become either an admiral or the best CP member (who are the nobles's guardian dogs), so there's a distinction there that could be used to fit Dragon and company.

Akainu will lose like Blueno. He is not the final villain. Nothing suggests that. Scrubs fighting and losing badly to PK Luffy does not make them stronger. Fodder are just fodder, no matter whom they fight.
No, if luffy defeat akainu it will prove Akainu 's ideology about his moral code that pirates needs to be eliminated.

I think thats one of the reason oda will avoid both of their confrontation. Dragon seems like worthy opponent.

I really don't think Akainu is the EoS villain but Dragon being murdered will have little to no effect on him, at least till now. He doesn't have any emotional connection with him.
Or Garp.

So Imu murdering Vivi qualifies him to be the final villain, but not Akainu murdering Ace?

Luffy knew Vivi for what, 3 days? And he spent like 14 years with Ace?
No but it’s the connection to get Luffy to care. What makes Imu the final villain is for every reason you listed in the OP. He is the anaconda tryna squeeze everyone and take away their freedom. He’s the one with a unique connection to the D Clan.

Akainu is just his thug front man

As the story progress i think Ace storyline will get closure. I have had enough of Ace plotline the guy is like everywhere

I feel any back story about Akainu will give sympathy to readers and his motive will make sense why he hates piracy ? He lived in harsh part of North blue and worked with naval police no wonder he is hardcore.

Yup, Garp is better, much better.
Garp killed by Akainu will probably drive luffy to avenge his grandfather.

Also it will divide the marines into pro and anti sakazuki factions.

She is key to pluton most likely . Less likely to die anytime.

Sabo
Hancock

They have good chance of getting killed .

Does only to take him to Blueno level. There are still Kong, Gorosei and Imu above him.
They hardly matter . Goroseis are old geezers and they never fought anyone for years.

Kong is old school homie , he is probably on retirement paycheck , senior to Sengoku and garp so its useless.
