Chapter Discussion Kaido Didn't Take Shanks Seriously During Marineford?

#1
in chapter 1037, Kaido says he hasn't fought anyone seriously in a long time. 2 years ago during the Marineford arc it is said that (correct me if I'm wrong) 2 days ago Shanks was fighting Kaido. So the off-screen match between Kaido vs Shanks wasn't a serious match? did they really fight or was it just a marine interpretation? Yeah, when Kaido remembers the only characters that can fight him, Shanks appears alongside Roger, WB, Xebec and Oden, but did they really fight seriously during Marineford or not?

Why is this even a question if:

A) "long time" is subjective

B) Shanks is literally behind Luffy as the men who Kaido acknowledges are the "top" to Kaido

Not that Shanks stood any sort of chance against Kaido to begin with. Shanks prolly gave him sake or some shit to appease Kaido.
I find it hilarious people say things like this, considering Kaido put Shanks up on a pedestal long with Roger, Rocks, Whitebeard and Oden.

Oh, well, keep sniffing that denial I guess when Shanks continues to be relevant beyond Kaido:kayneshrug:
Post automatically merged:

Shanks' goal is to negotiate. So they wouldn't have a violent clash.
Except there's zero proof to that point. Kaido considers Shanks one of the top men who can match him, so...

You do know that Shanks and Kaido belong in the same generation? Same as how Law has become the ultimate Luffy cheerleader, someone who can change the world.

They never fought seriously, period. Kaido remained the WSC even after MF. Kaido just saw a lot of potential in Shanks.
