Kaido dodged Luffy's Red attack;
Luffy reacted at Kaido dodging;
Luffy: ''Why are you dodging?''
While against Asura, Kaido is just standing there with raising his club, ready to finish Zoro instead of dodging;
Kaido got surprised that Zoro is using CoC, he didn't know it;
So the question is, did Kaido underestimate Zoro's Asura?
As for the speed argument, I am pretty sure Luffy's Red attack range > Zoro's Asura attack range, due to Luffy can stretch his arm and he is faster than Zoro due to FS CoO, while Zoro needed to get close to cut Kaido with Asura.
What do you guys think?

What was stopping Kaido from using thunder bagua an attack that even a future sight user couldn't fully dodge? heck we saw how fast the attack is in this chapter too or just fly and use Ragnarok + a lightning attack from your mouth

He wouldn't need to deflect his swing if he speed blitzed him.
and what about "all his swings"? Did Kaido attacked multiple times?

OT: judging by Kaido reaction, he knew Ashura is a powerful attack that is why he instantly attacked Zoro, he did not underestimate him and still got owned.

He didn't underestimate Zoro's asura or his attack. Zoro was just that fast and powerful.
In the top right scene we see a big black "dot" and 2 small black dots together in the distance. That is Kaido, Zoro and Law. That gives us an idea of the distance between Kaido and them.
The next page shows the clash between asura Zoro and hybrid Kaido.
- Zoro enters asura mode.

While Luffy's first King Haki moment is Impel Down against the wolves, Zoro's first King Haki moment (showing King Haki for the first time) is against Kaidou. So that first awakening moment, Zoro had it bigger than Luffy tbh.
