Maybe Kaido is so amazing Oda chose to focus that little on his ship and that much on his being. Not it's not the Beast Pirates were seen traversing the seas so far in all seriousness.
Kaido is focused on building his base and army, spending almost 30 years on Wano with a tight control to prevent uprisings (now he's going to lose it all within a night lol). Doubt he has much of a main ship, just lots of powerful warships.
