Speculations Kid and Law vs Big Mom Outcome

Okay ladies and gents, it's that time again. Another VS chapter, another poll thread. Vs chapters are interesting they result in a lot of different variations as we've seen throughout the series:

- There are examples where it's called and the fight ends the same chapter (Zoro vs Ryuma, Robin vs Yama)
- Similarly there are fights that are called and have a climactic finish, but the outcome is not known until the following chapter (Sanji vs Queen, Zoro vs King)
- There are examples where its called, but the outcome is not known for 3-4 chapters (Jinbe vs WsW)
- Finally, there are examples where it's called, but the fight gets 1-3 more chapters overall (Franky vs Fukuro, Sanji vs Jabra, Zoro vs Kaku, Robin vs Black Maria)

I think most people agree that Kid and Law vs Big Mom currently falls under the last category. Clearly their attacks against her isn't 1038 were the final/climactic ones, going by their dialogue.

There is one thing that can be said about VS chapters in One Piece: they almost always end with a victor 1-3 chapters after it is called, and almost always end with the villain losing. There are several exceptions in this manga because Oda called the VS title early (Luffy vs Lucci, it last 10 chapters after the VS title) and in Skypiea, Oda gave VS titles to fodder like Genbo or Kamakuri, who's opponents still lost anyway later on.


I will leave that in mind as we all argue the next week lol

Depends on if Wano plot lines can all but be finished in 1-3 chapters. Neither Yonko going down until virtually everything solved & there the deciding factors. In which case Law/Kid obviously win, then Kaido falls

I don't think this remotely has to be the case for Big Mom. For Kaido, yes, because his defeat ties into Momo not dropping Onigashima and the "terror" of Wano finishing.

She can go down whenever Oda feels like. He can even give Kaido a flashback featuring her after she falls, nothing really is stopping that

Yes this post was about what happens to her in 1039+.

It's widely accepted that their last attack in 1038 didn't beat her of course. Wouldn't make sense that way

They better beat her ass overall, I think 1-2 more chapters max to go in that case.

Simple fact they are left with beating no one, while every other major alliance member defeated an opponent of relevance, Hawkins, Flyers, Calamities, Peros, Luffy beats Kaido, while Kid and Law no one just doesn't sit right with me, they already came so far at pushing BM to the edge of her defeat I would argue with the latest chapter, have them one last push and end it.

It could go different ways as to when she gets defeated, like moving to other plotlines first as, while BM tried to put them down so she can regroup with Kaido and clean everything remaining, while Kid and Law beat her at the last 1/2 chapters before Kaido's defeat so both Emperors defeat gets announced

Kid and law aren’t straw hats and don’t follow the formula. There’s also alot that will happen like the kid whole cake plotline. The possibility of kids father being a former crew mate of big mom. Caribou ina cover story carrying metal and meat(luffy and kid).

1039 is likely the last chapter of the kid and law vs big mom matchup. After it will be a 1v1.

1. Big Mom we'll get back up, we'll get a half chapter of the fight then move onto other resolving plot points

2. Kid and Law pull their final move and chapter ends with the defeat of Big Mom

This was more than 15 years ago, you should use only part 2 fights for reference.
On topic, BM is out in the next chapter or the fight continues off panel and BM will eventually betray Kaido and leave.

It was not "known" until the narration called it. Complete hindsight bias. Doesn't matter if people predicted it or not.
