I was originally going to post this comment in Monkey D Theories thread but I'll just post it here instead.

I feel like some users like Paper, Monkey D Theories, and others are acting like Big Mom is just another random side villain that needs to get defeated when we know that's not the case.

Now I'm on the side of Big Mom being defeated in the Wano arc, I've even said before that I believe that Kid and Law will end up defeating Big Mom during the Wano arc but at the same time I never ruled out the possibility of her not being defeated.

However them defeating Big Mom in the next chapter or the following one that quickly imo would be garbage, now if the next three or four chapters is mainly focused on their fight and if we see more from them in action including Big Mom's own awakening then I probably won't have any problem with Kid and Law defeating Big Mom.

Big Mom is not just some random side villain that needs to quickly get defeated, no matter how you feel about Big Mom she is still a Yonko at the end of the day just like Kaido and she has been a major villain throughout the post timeskip/New World. Her character has been buildup ever since the Fish-Man Island arc and she also had major focus during the WCI arc, if her character gets defeated in the next chapter or the following one that quickly by Kid and Law without seeing more feats from her and without seeing her awakening that would again be absolutely garbage.

Big Mom should get a proper defeat, Kid and Law using some random power up and quickly defeating her is not a proper defeat.

Here are some others issues I have.

Now even though I have no problem with Kid and Law defeating Big Mom, I personally would find it weird if they end up defeating a Yonko before Luffy. I still believe that Oda is going to have Luffy defeat a Yonko first before Kid and Law, ever since the beginning of the New World Oda has been building up Luffy to defeat a Yonko.

With all this buildup to the Yonko's and Luffy challenging them and saying he wants to defeat them, to me it seems like not only will Oda have Luffy be the first one to defeat a Yonko but he will also make a big deal out of it.

I don't think Oda would have all this buildup for Luffy to be the first one to defeat a Yonko, only to have Kid and Law suddenly do it first. Now if that does happen then I believe Oda will either have Big Mom get defeated at the same time as Kaido or he will take her "defeat" in a different direction, but if Big Mom does get defeated before Kaido then alright I was wrong.

Also Oda hasn't even focused that much on the Kid and Law vs Big Mom fight, a majority of the fight has so far been off paneled and when Oda does focus on the fight he only shows a little bit of it.

Compare Luffy vs Kaido from last chapter to Kid and Law vs Big Mom in this latest chapter, a majority of the last chapter was mainly focused on Luffy vs Kaido and the actual fight was really good meanwhile the Kid and Law vs Big Mom fight in this latest chapter which is supposed to be the main focus was only focused during the last six pages and the actual fight itself was very underwhelming in fact it didn't even feel like an actual fight.

Zoro vs King and Sanji vs Queen had way more focus than Kid and Law vs Big Mom, this fight against Big Mom should be getting way more focus but it hasn't. We haven't seen Kid and Law do more attacks against Big Mom and as for Big Mom herself we still need to see more impressive feats from her, look at Kaido who we have seen more in action and we also saw more impressive feats from him.

If Oda makes the next few chapters mainly focused on Kid and Law vs Big Mom and if we see all three of them really going all out from seeing more attacks to Big Mom's awakening then I probably won't have any problem with Big Mom's defeat in the Wano arc, but if that doesn't happen and if she quickly gets defeated in the next chapter or the following one without seeing more impressive feats or awakening then this entire Kid and Law vs Big Mom fight would then be trash.

Overall I have no problem with Big Mom's defeat in the Wano arc but I want her to have a proper defeat, and if she doesn't get defeated and comes back for a third arc then I'm fine with that as well.

Okay ladies and gents, it's that time again. Another VS chapter, another poll thread. Vs chapters are interesting they result in a lot of different variations as we've seen throughout the series:

- There are examples where it's called and the fight ends the same chapter (Zoro vs Ryuma, Robin vs Yama)
- Similarly there are fights that are called and have a climactic finish, but the outcome is not known until the following chapter (Sanji vs Queen, Zoro vs King)
- There are examples where its called, but the outcome is not known for 3-4 chapters (Jinbe vs WsW)
- Finally, there are examples where it's called, but the fight gets 1-3 more chapters overall (Franky vs Fukuro, Sanji vs Jabra, Zoro vs Kaku, Robin vs Black Maria)

I think most people agree that Kid and Law vs Big Mom currently falls under the last category. Clearly their attacks against her isn't 1038 were the final/climactic ones, going by their dialogue.

There is one thing that can be said about VS chapters in One Piece: they almost always end with a victor 1-3 chapters after it is called, and almost always end with the villain losing. There are several exceptions in this manga because Oda called the VS title early (Luffy vs Lucci, it last 10 chapters after the VS title) and in Skypiea, Oda gave VS titles to fodder like Genbo or Kamakuri, who's opponents still lost anyway later on.

I will leave that in mind as we all argue the next week lol
If she loses without using advCoC or awakening this would be the worst fight in the history of fiction

Whatever the outcome is context eliminated the likelihood of Meme putting Kid/Law down for good, and paragraphs of sniffing Meme's butthole won't change that.

i believe neither BM nor Law and Kid got defeated.

i feel like something big gonna happens that make everything turn more chaotic? might be one of many bomb exploded, then chaos prevail and what they have to do is save their own asses.

I'm done with this fight tbh:catcry:. It's just so fcking contrived & is rinse and repeat almost errtime we see it so really fcking hope we don't get 2-3 more chapters of this. I see folks speculating on stuff like Oda expanding on the fight and having Big Mom use awakening etc. in the next few chapters but there's just no way that Oda does anything that makes Linlin any stronger than she already is. Even without using CoC Coating and her inability to dodge for some reason :catsweat: she's already too much for Kidd and Law, so making Linlin any stronger will only make a Law/Kidd win more contrived than it already is.

Anywho! no idea why Oda showed Kidd and Law in such a sorry state this chapter and also had Kidd go on about fighting for a different reason if he's gonna have them beat Linlin but in the case that they the do win this, I think it ends next chapter with Linlin having some sorta plot contrived major brain fart. The way tings are atm, I don't see how Law and Kidd win this and it ends in a satisfying way for the readers. Law & Kidd fans would prolly be ecstatic coz of the feat but neutrals are gonna rage and rightly so imo.

Personally I think it ends in a stalemate with Linlin retreating at the end of the arc. Even if Law & Kidd aren't able to put Linlin down, stalling her is still a "win" and major accomplisment for the alliance.

I see Big Mom becoming mentally crippled by the end of this fight.I think Oda will do 5 more chapters for each Yonko.

Also,Kidd will land the finishing blow.He will hit her in the head very hard with a crazy amount of metal.
Actually what i thought for a long time.
BM getting defeated would pretty much throw the Carmel setup away.
Not unlikely that she either gonna turn to Olin permanently, or that she will remember what actually happened to Carmel and so forth and then change, and thus will drop out as contender.

I also have the feeling that Kaido is going down first.

But thinking about it more, its true she cannot go down without resolving mother caramels delusion plot.

Law and Kidd will be defeated once again and she will come across cp0 then

Dont think Oda will keep the fight in the next chapters, other lesser plots like Fukurokujo, Orochi and Kazembo probably will be solved before.

Think the order of events will be:
-Yamato stop Kazembo (pehaps with Marco or Brook help)
-Fuku vs Raizo ends (both fainted)
-Izo vs CP0 ends (CP0 wins)
-Franky reacue Zoro and bring him to Chopper
-Ussop bring Kiku and Kinemon to Chopper
-The SH reunite in the main floor
-The Flames take over the whole castle
-Orochi killed by Hiyori/Denjiro or pehaps left to burn in the castle
-Zunesha destroy the BMP and WG ships
-BM defeated
-Momo have to hold Onigashima
-Luffy vs Kaido
-CP0 take the leftovers and leave to Marijoa with something we dont know yet

Yonkos need 5 chapter each of pure action so it feels satisfying.
