Luffy wasn't a legendary Zoan user at time. Until his DF awakened it acted like a simple paramecia.

So yes I don't see Shanks or Kaido one-shotting any YC1. Oh and Luffy was no YC1 at time.

Adcoc would have made kidd stronger but his main problem is he relies on metal to fight. Metal isn't strong at the peak of op and isn't effective against top tier. Oda should have given kidd some hand to hand skills that he could mix with his df on top of him having good haki. Just giving kidd adcoc does make him stronger but doesn't change the flaw of kidd. It'd be cool to see him with adcoc but oda should give him more than just that and actually put some thought into kidd's fighting style not just him throwing metal around.

Kid will be needed in endgame as one of the final war fighter.

It is pretty obvious that the final fights will include admirals, the Gorosei and Imu. The Gorosei are to much for strawhats beside Luffy, Zoro and Sanji. Which means, luffy will be busy with Imu, Zoro and Sanji with 2 of the Gorosei, which makes 3 remaining fights against the Gorosei. One of them belongs to Kid.
