As you guys know Zoro getting CoC is a pretty renowned topic in the One Piece fandom. While I used to be a heavy supporter of it, I'm now starting to question whether he actually needs it. The reason for that is the fear induction ability of Roronoa Zoro. This is such a unique ability that only 3 known characters have it in the entire series.

It's first showcasing is done by Dracule Mihawk:

^^ That is not Luffy using FS. FS requires hardcore training of CoO in order to attain, not something one awakens naturally. That is what's projected into Luffy's mind by Mihawk aiming his killing intent at him. The fear that if he attacks Mihawk, he will get his arm chopped off. Some will use the "calmer than I expected" as a way to claim this is FS, but no that's not why it was mentioned. The reason for him mentioning Luffy being calmer than expected is showcased in the other two examples.

2nd Showcasing is done by Roronoa Zoro:

He projects his killing intent on to Monet, she then gets the thought in her head that he's going to slice her up. Just like how Luffy got the thought in his head that Mihawk would slice his arm off if he extended it.

Difference between Monet and Luffy is this:

Monet was paralyzed by the sheer fear from the killing intent that Zoro unleashed. This would not have happened if she had remained calm like in the case of Luffy. Because Luffy was calm he was able to overcome the fear of Mihawk rather than get paralyzed (though I also doubt Mihawk unleashed his full killing intent on to him).

3rd Showcasing with Cracker:

Now it's really with Cracker that I start to speculate whether Zoro needs Conqueror's haki. Cracker's killing intent exertion is so high that he's able to replicate the same effect as CoC and knock out the Homis. Which was even felt by Luffy making him question whether it was Haki or not. Then Nami mentions whether they just whithered out of fear.

Note how Luffy says "Not Quite".. which makes me think that it's effect on the person's will is similar to that of Conqueror Haki's.

------------

So after seeing how Cracker is able to knock out Homis surrounding him by simply exerting his killing intent, akin to the effect of CoC. I think it would be more interesting for Roronoa to develop upon this ability rather than attain CoC. Because while CoC does have the advantage in AoE, this ability is more stronger when it comes to individual targets (IE, Luffy knocking out 50k fodder fishmen, while Roronoa paralyzing Monet).

So what do you guys think will Roronoa get CoC or will he expand on this ability.. or will he have both?

Like teacher like student Zoro came out of the time skip more savage than ever haha, if this is an actual ability maybe another branch of CoC i really wouldn't mind him having this version of it.

Considering the fact that Killing Intent has been exclusively displayed by swordsmen so far in the series, obviously it's a lot cooler for Zoro to have that.

CoC is getting less and less impressive as the series goes by, tbh, unless an advanced version of it rocks.
