Not really. Both need to show more. Shiryu's hype isnt really that good tbh. Being Magellan's equal, with Magellan being a low High Tier/High Mid Tier at best. Then stealing Absaldom's fruit....which isnt really that good since Sanji's shown the ability to eaaily counter it.

Of course maybe Shiryu's make it better when he has it. But still....he hasnt shown me much to think hes that hype !

Shiryu is still a guy Zoro will fight in the future.

If Current Zoro is stronger than Marco, I would likely say so it's Shiryu.

That expecially since he already ate his devil fruit and now he just needs to master it I suppose.

Not only that, the skulls literally seem to replace where the ID symbol is for Hanyabal and Magellan.

Shiryu is proof of that. He replaced the skulls where his ID symbol was. I would NOT be surprised if he looked up to King back in the day and when King left to become a pirate, who then changed his design to skulls, he copied him as a means of respect

Nah don't think they have much similarities except the fact that Oda can be very unoriginal in character designs sometimes

I would wonder how did King manage to do that however.

Impel Down was an unexploitable fortress.

Shiki had to his cut his own legs in order to escape that hell lol.
