Funny seeing all the cope from Yonko fans about Luffy fighting Kizaru. But you people should consider yourselves extremely lucky if that's all it ends up being, because it's going to be kizaru vs all strawhats not just Luffy. I know i made a thread earlier on how it would be kizaru vs luffy and the rest vs vice admirals, however the situation has changed with the latest chapter. Kizaru ended up coming to the island early before everyone else, and is the only one that can get inside the frontier dome. Meaning it is just kizaru in there whom is purposefully engaging all the strawhats at once.
This is obviously meant to parallel sabaody. Because back then, it wasnt just a luffy vs kizaru 1v1. It was kizaru hunting all the strawhats down. The same is happening here. The reason Oda is making Luffy lose here is the same reason he made Kid and law lose. Its because of Arrogance.
Luffy thought they could storm marijora and fight navy headquarters until zoro talked some sense in to him. Even here, Luffy thought the navy ships would simply back away. Defeating old era yonko has made him arrogant, just like it did for kid and law. Its time for Luffy to taste the same humble pie. This is how Oda sets up the tension and hype for the final war. Thought strawhats could take on Navy Hq? well oda is going to show how even a glimpse of their power is too much for the strawhats. Luffy will be humbled here and has been set up to reunite with Kid on elbaf. Together, the new era will rise up again, similar to how they did in wano after both losing to kaido initially. Im sure Law will end up in elbaf as well.
