That could be it. There has to be something esoteric involved in their indestructibility. Though I must ask why, if the awakened paw-paw fruit can do that, Lili didn't just beat the shit out of Imu herself and stop the void century instead of just saving a part of it via the poneglyphs?
Because straight up, if it can grant total immunity to damage while also allowing its user to more or less teleport while also having a pretty high damage potential, I wonder why its user, especially if they awaken the fruit, would not just be the strongest person ever?
Because as strong as Imu might be, they still didn't destroy the poneglpyhs despite clearly disliking them and finding it a thorn in their side indicating they also cant destroy these things. Maybe it can only grant damage immunity to non-living things?
I like the idea overall, though. With Lilis connection to them, them being scattered inexplicably across the entire planet, and being idnestructible all being because of the paw paw fruit seems plausible, no other fruit would explain it as well.

There are coverpages where Franky has bear ears. He is also a cyborg like Kuma. Not much more reasons to pick him. He said he desires no DF. Eating such a powerful one would make him too strong. Jinbe wouldn't be the only one anymore challenging Sanjino's place in the SH hierarchy. Where would the paws even spawn? He has multiple layers of hands. The small ones for delicate work, his normal robot hands and various ones in other robo suits. If he uses General Franky, he presumably couldn't use the paws.
Kuma just got a quarter of is face melted off. Don't think he has much time left. When the body dies, the Paw-Paw Fruit will respawn.
Would make sense if a Strawhat ate the fruit, because of this:
The most popular choice in the community at the moment is probably Vivi. Before that became popular, many thought Franky would get the fruit. He himself told Luffy he would never eat one.
My own pick is Usopp. He would use the paws like he used dials in Skypiea and Water 7. He could send his seeds via the paws just aswell as shooting them with the slingshoot. It would actually increase his range. He also could practically teleport by sending himself somewhere at high speed. That would come in handy in the eventual fight against Augur. He could also use it to travel between New World and Syrup Village. He could be with Kaya and experience great adventures.
