actually no, I think that was the limit of his ability. The whole thing was that Kise can copy the GoMs with the PC which is how he beat Haizaki.

Iirc the regular copy also had limitations when it came down to NBA players. I think it's because of the difference in physical strength and skill

I think Haizaki is the best non-GoM player besides Himuro and Kagami.

Wouldn't have made narrative sense. Imagine someone being able to steal Akashi's Emperor Eye, or Aomine's formlessness and at will zone.

Well it's more the "stealing" that is the problem compared to merely copying an ability. If someone could deny Akashi or Aomine their abilities at any point in the game, it wouldn't really have fit well with their overwhelming self confidence. "The only one who can beat me is me" doesn't really mesh with getting shut down like that.

The uncrowned kings were portrayed below the GoM though still above everyone else. Himuro was said to be GoM level iirc, which tells me he’s above those dudes.

I guess it makes sense his physical ability is an 8 since he’s on the shorter end and relies purely on refined skill/technique, which they gave him a perfect score for. I’d wager mental strength should be higher, wasn’t he the Captain of his team?

Jason Silver would probably be above 10 in physical ability. Nash Gold Jr. was a better Akashi, so he may have had a total higher than 50.

The Vorpal Swords were only fortunate they couldn't enter the zone.

I was actually surprised Akashi got a mental strength score of 10 TBH. Details would probably be spoilers though as you haven't watched Vs. Rakuzan yet.
