Controversial Law can lose but Kidd can't

#6
Ive been saying this all week. Kidd lost the first time vs the red haired pirates and didn't even get to meet shanks and also lost the first time he met kaido. He then took down a yonko and now is meeting shanks. Does it make any sense for kidd to lose the first time, improve and then lose to shanks again? On top of that, Shanks is there with his naval fleet, giants and his full crew, in what world would this be a hypetool for Shanks???There's a reason why Oda didnt showcase conquerors at wano. Hes 100% unlocking acoc this fight with shanks. There are only two outcomes for this fight. Either a stalemate/thirdparty interruption or Kidd winning. Oda himself has said kidd is an important character. And Kidd will be one of the leaders of the new gen. Hes not dying or losing to shanks here. And the situation with Law vs BB is very different. Been spending time reading on this forum, other forums and youtube...so many people actually think kidd is getting one shot by shanks, he won't do any damage to shanks, hes getting low diffed, hes fighting beckman/lucky roo etc..A lot of headcanon going to be ruined this year lol.

Ironic, considering a lot of headcanon is being used to justify Kid's importance over Shanks or what he needs to do as a competitor for One Piece (which is nonexistant mind you, he will never have a crew or fleet to match Luffy's).

All you need to do is follow the narrative. The story is nearing some sort of end, yes, years from now still, but it still needs to end. Removing Luffy's contemporaries, who have only been painted as allies in every single scenario they've been in this story since Sabaody, makes sense, because they will never be actual competitors for One Piece.

But sure, lets assume all of what I said was complete bullshit (which you'll say to yourself, out of denial probably). Continue to ask yourself some questions/realize a few things then:

1. Why did Oda have Kid and Law contribute to BMs defeat together? If Kid is Luffy's equal, why didnt he fight BM alone? If thats the case, why are we treating Law's fate any different from Kid's here? We also act like Law's loss to Doflamingo made him an irrelevant character. He ended up topping Big Mom with Kid. Kid losing does not do anything to harm him as an ally, because thats what he is.

2. What is the authors intention of recreating vol 25 with vol 105 of the 4 current Yonko if NOT to highlight their importance in the story? Why not make Kid (or Law for that matter) a Yonko? Its very clear there has been an intention for years to make this the intended Yonko group

But yes, sure, the volume following this is supposed to have Kid, a secondary character, defeat one of these Yonko immediately succeding this volume. Just a reminder that he chose BUGGY of all people to be a Yonko, not Kid

3. Shanks and Buggy are literally Oda's favorite characters. This is a cold hard fact.

4. A stupid one but I shit you not: Next chapter falls on Shanks' birthday. Do you actually think Oda, king of birthdays, dates and coincidences, will make Shanks (one of his favorite characters) look bad on his birthday, IF next chalpter focuses on this fight?

And Im not even providing you all of the narrative reasons why Shanks cannot lose at this stage of the story. But ill give you just "some" of the chapters to review:

- 1
- 96
- 580
- 903
- 907
- 1054

It is not headcanon to understand this. It IS headcanon however to assume Kid's relevance has to do with competing for One Piece. Oda says he's important, it doesnt not mean he wont be for the EoS, as Luffy's ally, just as he was at Wano.

According to you,
Luffy shouldn't go from 2v1 Cracker to beating Katakuri 1v1
Kid and law went from 2v1 Yokki to being able to 1v1 a Yonko. Law will lose cause he's fighting anorher worstgen. Kid losing isn't guaranteed in the story

You haven't given any arguments that counters Narrative that Old Gen pirates cant beat NewGen anymore

Watch Oda make Apoo and co show up to helo kid pirates face off rhp while Kid fights Shanks
Oda can bring up any ally for Kid and Kid is also getting PUs (adcoc,..)

Everyone that thinks Kidd will win,you guys will collect some L's.Shanks has been hyped for 20 years,we barely have panel time with him in it.No way Oda is ditching such a character, for a cheap last minute knock off.

Ive given plenty. All youve given me is actual headcanon like Apoo showing up or a 2v1 turning into a 1v1 lol

how many times must i say this, kidd will die just like the real kid did in front of his crew.
When oda said ''i hope no one dies'' he was hinting at this, killer also hinted at it
hes going to go out like a champ and not give up until the end, but yeah, this is what i expect. kid will remain behind and go down with his ship and some of his crew will escape

They will lose but they will not be crippled, nor like an individual nor like a crew (like what happened to Moria and his old crew to be clear) because that stuff is too dark for OP to be taken directly. They will lose, give a copy of their poneglyphs but preserve the crew and also get at least a bit stronger (Shanks will not butcher Kidd anymore nor will BB do with Law what he did with Marco and co) so that, at least nominally, they both will still be contenders in the race for the OP. They will not come to cry to Luffy because 1) it would be too pitiful for them, even if they are already cheerleaders of Luffy and 2) Luffy is already a Jesus character without these stunts, this will just worsen even more his character.

Yet I have to say I expected Oda to do something more original in order to have Shanks and BB be in the race instead of this contemporary double theft.

People don't get that this ain't like roger era.
Back then the story needed rivals and more so the next era can challenge them ,this era is the final one where the PK will discover the secrets and control the seas.
