Character Discussion Law, not Chopper, is the key to healing Big Mom

I always thought Oda having Law fight Big Mom in Wano was really... weird. What's the purpose there? How does that make sense narratively?

Well the simplest explanation, is that Law is a doctor, and that Oda is setting up Law and Big Mom having more interactions. Since Big Mom killed Bepo's brother, and Law was allied with the Straw Hats for so long, he and Big Mom do have other indirect connections.

So, then I wondered, okay, what can Law to do help Big Mom, that Chopper can't? There's only one option that really makes sense.

The Personality Transplant Surgery

Big Mom is CRAZY. Her health issues go way beyond physical stuff like the hunger panes.

It's possible Law just shifts the worst parts of her personality away, but, I believe Mother Caramel's Soul DOES still exist in Big Mom, and Law will be the one to "Cure" Big Mom, by removing Mother Caramel's Soul from her using his Personality Transplant.

The Linlin we saw in Wano with amnesia IS the real Linlin, while "Big Mom" is Caramel's Soul warped into Linlin's. If this is the case, and Big Mom's insanity comes from Mother Caramel's Soul, Law is the only person I can think of who can aid her.

Okay, Kaido I can understand, but BIG MOM?!?!? Way too many plot threads left unfinished, she has to come back.

We still don't even know what happened to the Big Mom Pirates after Wano. They're coming back (most likely to get knocked off another waterfall).
Ace also had lots of unfinished threads which were continued through other means... Same thing can be done with BM (BMP remnants' next move, Elbaf plot, potential BB usurping her DF abilities or her corpse, Rocks things)...

Oh, yeah, it's possible. But, if that's how she died? Ugh. I'm not the biggest Big Mom fan, but her character deserves way more than falling off an island and getting blown up by bombs.

I also believe that BM will return & that she's not dead, but I don't think Law will cure her because she was going on mad mode even when she was 5 years old, remember when she destroyed Elbaf, but still good theory, Law might play part in curing her but not fully cure her, if she will be cured then I think Chopper or Vegapunk will be the ones to do this

I agree with your sentiments... While I do see why Oda has to kill BM with Kaido at the same arc (makes sense narrativewise and in the aim to make Wano arc more impactful than MF arc lorewise), he really lacked creativity most of the last part of Wano arc...

Oh, yeah, Big Mom was always crazy, but there was a difference.

When she was young, she just didn't know any better. Young Big Mom would never approve of destroying an entire country because they didn't send her candy. Young Big Mom would attack people when she was starving, or when they didn't get along, but, otherwise, she tried to be really peaceful.

Modern Big Mom is nuts, and has no problem abusing her own children for no reason, treating Pudding and Chiffon horribly for parts of their body their couldn't control (Pudding's eye, Chiffon looking like Lola).

Before Mother Caramel's "death" Big Mom only got crazy and violent when she was hungry or saw injustice. After Caramel disappeared, Big Mom became ruthless. Something changed, IMO. O-Linlin acted just like OG Linlin, so, I think the real Charlotte Linlin is still somewhere deep inside of Big Mom.

Or... she's dead.

I beg you CoC

Let her rest in peace for our own sake and One piece :josad:
God damn it, if THIS GUY SURVIVED BOMB:

THEN BIG MOM SURVIVED BOMB

WHO DO YOU THINK SHE IS?!?!? PEDRO!?!?!

If Oda actually killed Big Mom with fucking bombs I'm going to be so damn angry.

I wish I could make Big Mom theories without half of the discussion being about how she's already dead...

yeah, so there are two issues with BM, the mother caramel evil personality which like you said, could be cured with Law's ability, & the other issue is the mad mode when she is starving, I think this one is related to Vegapunk or WG experiments, because it's so much similar to PH kids mad mode, so I think that either Chopper or Vegapunk will cure this illness

That could have been a chance of development for Chopper over both WCI and Wano arcs, with him having finding and having to deal with an illness that he doesn't know nor can cure with normal means or alone, as well as the dilemna or whenever or not he should find a cure for someone who has been an enemy of his crew or ignore his doctor vows and values.

Both Chopper and Law could have worked together on this, and it could have been the key for a peaceful resolution of Big Mom's illness and of her conflict with the Straw Hats.

But unfortunately One Piece isn't that kind of story it seems, and Chopper seems cursed to just be a plot device to heal whatever injury the Straw Hats face.
