Zoro. Story literally doesn't change if he wasn't there. Like Kuma is loyal to luffy and dragon so he never would have killed luffy. I think that the only important things he's done. I mean hey he saves Luffy energy by taking weaker opponents out of his way but in the end scheme it doesn't change what's happened so far.

Least essential SH (but also can be the most important) is Sanji.

  • Someone who wants to find a mythical place? Luffy too
  • Advising the captain & be a heavy hitter? Zoro did it too
  • Becoming invisible? Mirage Tempo Nami
  • Doing odd jobs & be a hero / savior? Usopp does a lot
  • Taking care of the crew's health? Chopper is enough
  • Wants a royalty as nakama? Vivi is a princess
  • Need a spy? Robin is more experienced
  • Straw Hat needs a Science guy and a tank? Franky is the dude
  • Oh, a speedster is needed? Brook is
  • Underwater fight & tactical guy? Jinbe the veteran
  • Elemental brawler with daddy issues? Yamato at your service

HA001 is right. Chopper is a useless piece of shit.
His obsession with saving everyone makes him a annoying and uninteresting character, and also plagues the story.
Chopper's entire personality and life begins and ends with his belief that death is a useless thing, all lives are equally valuable, everyone deserves to be saved and he can solve anything with medicine.
These beliefs are bullshit. Death is a necessary evil and a unstoppable force of nature that people should not fight against.
Chopper's obsession makes death a irrelevant thing in the story, removes any stakes in the story, and floods the story with useless shit. Many of the characters Chopper saves are annoying and worthless idiots who do nothing but waste space.
The dumpster of humanoid animals served no purpose, and only plagued the story. They wasted space whining about someone they lost, and turned promising villains into big jokes. That's why Chopper saving them wasn't a good feat, but a big L.
Mr Poo Poo and Kiku surviving the lethal wounds they received was a example of how OP has no sense of seriousness and realism. The fact that they are annoying and worthless idiots who had no purpose in the story makes it worse.
These are proof that some lives are worthless and not everyone deserves to be saved.
Chopper lives in the world of pirates, but never does the things a pirate does, like collecting valuables and seeking adventures. This is atrocious writing.
In the world of pirates, there are countless things you have to fight to get. Chopper has no right to call himself a pirate when he refuses to fight for what he wants. What's the point of him having cool superpowers if he doesn't do anything with them?
If Lolda really cared about developing Chopper as a character,he would write a plotline about Chopper being proven wrong about his beliefs, stopping being so obsessed with medicine, and starting to behave more like a real pirate.
Lolda should just kill off Chopper. As the story is already in the final saga, and it looks like Chopper's story isn't going anywhere,it's better to get rid of him early than to give him a shitty conclusion later.

Damn, you guys don't miss one chance to be in the negative against characters, writers or stories.. what's the point if not to create more toxicity?
Case and point.

Tight race between Nami and Ussop both have been useless in wano arc.

At least crew requires Nami because she is navigator but Usopp has been biggest disappointment since dressrossa . How Oda will make him fight against likes of against Van Augur ? He will get asspull power thats for sure .

Luffy got dozens of ass pulls against Kaido, Zoro got the mink medicine + Ashura ass pull in Ennies Lobby, all the straw hats have had an ass pull its about time Usopp gets one

Usopp is completely useless
Is he a good fighter? No he’s a fucking fraud and the weakest member
Has he a specialty like carpeting, navigation, cooking etc.? No, he can fix some things on the ship but he’s insanely overshadowed by Franky in this category

Brook is at least a decent fighter and brings joy.

Based on the role alone, Brook. Being a musician surely helps the team morale, but it's sort of an intangible help.
And to be honest, up until WCI Brook didn't really have many cool feats imo, and I was pleasantly surprised how Oda gave him so much needed spotlight.

@PeperLevi , as much as you may dislike Chopper as a character, SHP still need a doctor, there was even a plot point when whey specifically went out to find one. I also didn't like that virus plot in Wano, and I am overall not very happy with how Oda handles SHP post-TS for the most part, as the characters seem to be more one-dimensional than they used to be. But it is what it is, so far Egghead is the first arc I really enjoy post-TS (well, there were some cool moments here and there, but with Egghead it's more or less consistent).

Every SH except Robin and Luffy himself is absolutely useless.

Luffy is so heavily plot armoured that even if he just had barrel in the NW, He would still survive. Of course this also automatically means Robin also survives anything.

And the fact that he gets infinite respawns everytime he fights means he doesn't even need anyone else to fight the opposition crews. He'll just keep respawning till he wins against the final boss.

This is actually quite frustrating, I understand that Luffy is the MC, but goddamnit, dude, you got a crew and a lot of allies, let them shine as well. Even the evil bosses have their top tiers. Like as this point I'm not going to be surprised if Luffy solos all 5 Gorosei, admirals and Imu on top, while the rest of the crew cleans up VAs and other fodder ....
