The only arc I flat out didn’t like was the Davy Back Fight with Foxy. My thoughts on that have been articulated elsewhere, so suffice it to say, it felt ancillary and pointless back then, and all these years later, the fact that it’s never referenced in any way again proves its worthlessness.

Otherwise, WCI was a mess later on and dragged way too long with Wano waiting.

I hate Punk Hazard the MOST.
I think the arc had no worthy villain to actually last for 50+ chapters!

Also, there was so much dragging... unnecessary dragging! And Oda had to make the SH crew member on many occasions look underwhelming for the sake of giving intensity and giving threat to the enemy who were NOT WORTHY. And he FAILED to make it intense ANYWAY.

It's the ONLY ARC I would not re-visit again.
Every other arc, I revisited and had joy in experiencing it once again. Even Davy Back fight, and Fisman Island. BUT Punk Hazard? Total ASS

Franky just straight up disappearing for the second half of the arc was bizarre...guess it made sense when we saw Baby 5 and Buffalo, but still.

Is that the ONLY Bizzare thing for you!
Let me list some of the worst shit ever:

1- Chopper going Monster point for mere "kids", Zoro/ Sanji in Nami's body/ Brook all fainting from Yeti Cool Brothers, Luffy having underwhelming showings in PH as a whole (Vegapunk's Dragon, Ceasar, Monet). Oda instead of making the enemy strong, he just made the SH look underwhelming when they just got out of Timeskip.

2- The kids took soooo much screentime, more than their plot deserves. It was boring as fuck.

3- Monet should have been Nami's enemy, with her clima tact. And it would have been a great match considering Nami would take on a "Logia user" after timeskip. It would set the tone for how far the SHs have come. But Oda went the easy route, instead of writing a "smart battle" about weather and tactics. He just made Zoro capitalize on someone FAAAAR weaker than him. Sure, he looked, cool, but... Monet was perfect Logia enemy for Nami. I fucking hate how Oda ignored that. And Nami beating a Logia user right after the timeskip, would truly show you how strong the mid trio will be, and how strong the monster trio can be.

4- Shinokune, the weapon of mass destruction, broadcasted, only to see it not killing a SINGLE person. Because even after you suffocate from it, you can easily break free from it once it cracks. Wow. I mean, what a useless weapon! The same weapon that Oda wasted so much screentime on it, only to be the most useless, safe weapon LOL

5- There is a room in Punk Hazard, where it's filled with frozen people (prisoners). And Oda ignored to explain it, even though it could have some of the biggest most interesting plots created in Punk Hazard, where those prisoners are kept frozen to preserve them, for the time they can be used for experiment (something along the lines of 3D2Y movie, where Brandi World was frozen for decades). And freeing them, or including an important character among the frozen ones, could have created a great plot. But nah, we stayed and focused so much on useless shinokuni, and on kids wanting Candy.

6- Lastly, Doflamingo sends "baby 5 and Buffalo" to stop the SH and retrieve Ceasar. Are you serious? baby 5? Buffalo??? from a character known for how smart he is, sending Buffalo? FUCKING BUFFALO??? I repeat, Buffalo against Law and SHs????
LOL
How dumb Dasyan!

Also, if the SHs stayed partying in Punk Hazard, with Law/Luffy/Zoro/Sanji/Smoker..etc. They would have raped Doflamingo when he came ALONE LOOOOL

And that was even Law's main goal. His main goal was not Kaido, no matter how Law fans try to act like Law had plans against kaido. The dude just wanted to take down Doffy. Kaido was an afterthought, and was never his goal, as he intended to die in Dressrosa. So, I daresay Oda gave Doflamingo the perfect protection by Law being so stupid and asking them to leave very fast, when Doffy showing up there could have made the job too easy

Sometimes, I question Law's intelligence honestly. He also did a very stupid move in Dressrosa, when Fujitora asked him "if you are allies, you are criminal, if SH became under you, you are not criminal"
If Law's answer was because he had respect for Luffy and he didn't want news of his partner, Luffy to be underling of someone, sure. I wouldn't mind it. But the stupid brain of his, he answered they are allies only "because according to him, he only wants to buy time"
LIKE WTF!

Anyway, the point is. Punk Hazard is SOOOO BAD. And I would never rewatch that stupid boring arc

Monet vs Nami would have been huge, could have solidified even the Weak Trio as being implicitly capable of handling big players in the New World...so many wasted opportunities in that arc. If it didn’t set up so much stuff narratively, I’d be willing to agree it’s the worst arc, but giving us the Dressrosa/Wano preamble makes it borderline for me.

Sanji in Nami's body was entertaining though, I'm not gonna lie! haha, Even Zoro had a moment with Sanji holding his hands as Nami LOL. Brook sarcastically commenting "how romantic" was the icing on the cake hahaha

Maybe that’s what makes it slightly redeemable for me...it feels like the last time we got to see goofy, candid moments between the crew both after (Marineford/Post-War) and before (Dressrosa to ???) a lengthy stretch in which they’re either separated into groups or individually. We’ve lost a lot of the protagonists’ chemistry since that time :pepehands:

Probably Dressrosa for me. A lot of that can be attributed to how dragged out it was weekly, though. But I have issues all the same. I thought the final battle with Doffy and the Bird Cage as our stakes maker were lackluster. There was never a sense Luffy and the others were in danger because even if Luffy lost, there was a bunch of guys there who could've easily disposed of a worn out Doffy. I also hated the countdown. Felt really forced and overly dramatic. I was just ready for it all to end.

In general, the arc had a lot of build up that didn't really come to a satisfying pay off. It just feels like this big swath of content that needlessly pads out post timeskip One Piece.
