It is clear that Loki is a good guy. He will get a chance to prove it, to clear his name.
Loki is in the opposite position of that of Jinbe during Fishman Island. Jinbe was a hero to the Fishmen. Way stronger than Hody. But he let Luffy defeat him, in hopes that it would change the attitude of the fishmen towards humans.
The giants have a positive view towards humans, they consider them to be cute. They hate Loki though. The latter will chance when Loki hits Imu on the head with his hammer, and forces him to leave Gunko's body. Luffy will put his trust in Loki and let him try against Imu frist. The giants will realize that they were wrong. Maybe Mosa (Ida) shows up and shames them all for how they treated Loki for all those years.
